CSNY: Best 3 or 4 part harmony performance LIVE ?

Post by Olivia Sophia »

My favorite all time live song recording is STARDUST from Woodstock. I think Graham Nash put the magic into that song.

Close second, Eagles "in the city".

Others to nominate?

Not a band I like, but the Bee Gees could reproduce their studio harmonies live. And, for metal bands, King's X could do the same.

Little River Band could really bring it. Trying to find some vids of them warming up in the dressing room doing Cool Change and other tunes. Here’s Lonesome Loser live in ‘81.

Doobies is interesting.

It's easy to forget that they were really an RB band.

I never liked "listen to the music, " but I'm remembering the harmonies, and they drove that song.

I can't remember if they relied on live harmonies when Michael McDonald was lead singer, like on echoes of live.

Also BeeGees, yeah.

If Andy Gibb had lived longer, it would've been a 4 brothers outfit.

Even Maurice could sing really well

Came here to say this. I remember seeing an interview with Don Henley where he said the LRB had the best harmonies of any band, ever. They were great

I seriously doubt they needed much studio help - here's a different (shorter) version - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYVFZk0ZN-A

Yes, especially the Jon Anderson, Chris Squire and Trevor Rabin 80s lineup, sounded great live.

I have never seen any CSN where they really nail it live. If anybody has the links, I'd like to.

Eagles: Silver dagger https://youtu.be/khZco-St61c

All of the Sweet. They seriously had better harmonies live than Queen.

The Bangles doing Creeque Alley by the mommas and papas. Had to see it live...https://youtu.be/45mklND0bVU
