Album battle: Bad vs. Faith

Post by dmbrocker »

Okay, you've got two albums from 1987 that were huge at the time of their release and spawned multiple Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles: Jacko was trying to follow up the iconic Thriller with another multi-platinum chart-topping album, while George Michael was trying to shed his boy band duo past and come out with a more mature sounding album of hits. Both succeeded in those two respects, but which of these two releases do you think is better? Vote!

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

4, i Just Can't Stop Loving You
5. One More Try
6. Man in the Mirror
7. Bad
8. The Way You Make Me Feel

I still haven't listened to the entire Faith album. My dad bought me Bad when I was 10. I didn't ask for it. Ended up giving it away.

Smooth Criminal is better than all those songs.

Love both of these albums, but Bad edges out Faith for me.

Father Figure is one of the best ballads of all time! One More Try is excellent as well.

George Michael, by far, as he wrote & produced Faith himself & it was his first record out of Wham.

And also because he wasn't a kiddy fiddler.

Bad is a desert island disc for me, assuming I have a kick-ass stereo on the island and a power source. Absolute demo-material top to bottom. One of the greatest produced/engineered records of all-time. Steely Dan Aja? Child please.

Faith

As good as Bad was, Thriller was better. You just can’t beat Beat It and Billie Jean.

And as mentioned Father Figure is one of the best ballads ever. So is Careless Whisper for bonus points.

Don't own/never owned either album, but George Michaels "Monkey" is "my jam"! (And he was sexy as hell).
