His basslines were indeed in their own world, the Bob Daisley of blues/jamband/psychedelia, or however you want to qualify their music. He was truly one of the greats.

Whether or not you like his bass playing or the Dead, Lesh was a big part of one of the more fascinating and uniquely American musical/cultural movements of the last sixty years.
