Too Fast and Shout give Motley the win.
This is the correct answer.
Love Ratt, but Motley has too many great songs....More filler for sure, but those first 2 albums are amazing start to finish. Ratt has one that is even close to a perfect album OOTC.
It’s refreshing to see Ratt with a comfortable lead. I’ve spent many years in hair metal rehab and therapy unlearning my dysfunctional fandom for Motley Crue. I’ve finally recovered and seen the light.

Ratt > Motley Crue
Ratt N Roll
Screw The Crue
Only on a board like Sludge would Motley lose to RATT.

Really? Most of Motley's catalog is absolute shit. These poll results make sense.

You hate Motley so I expect this from you. However, outside of boards like this, do people even know RATT? For the most part, no.
For example, I asked my 16 year old son if he ever heard of Motley Crue, he had. I then asked him if he ever heard of RATT and he said no.
Motley would dominate a poll between them and RATT in the general public. It wouldn't even be close.
And for me personally:
Sticking with classic era:
Too Fast for Love > Out of the Cellar (though very close)
Shout at the Devil > Invasion of Your Privacy
Theater of Pain = Dancing Uncover (both terrible)
Girls Girls Girls > Reach of the Sky
Dr. Feelgood > Detonator
Stephen’s voice always had that fantastic mix of Sleeze , grit and gravel that was a perfect fit for the LA Sunset strip 80’s metal \m/
Saw Motley a few times and RATT once.
Of the live performances , I would trade all the Motley concerts to retain the memory of the RATT Wednesday night Headlining set at Rocklahoma 2008. Great lineup and amazing performance with the band firing on all cylinders!
I would still go see RATT today , unlike Motley , hell even Stephen’s solo band would steamroll Crue nowadays.

Aside from TFFL and it is very close, the rest I couldn’t disagree more
Ratt had way more talent and better albums. I have my criticisms
of the band but they are way better than Motley.
Motley are literally the most overrated band of the genre.

I appreciate your view, but I don't agree at all. Don't get me wrong, I love RATT. And like I believe you wrote, I also love Detonator. That album should have been huge.
