I wonder what prompted this statement from Snake?, Erik leaving due to health reasons was already known.

Is this because Erik let it slip that someone in the Skids camp said, "You're dead to me"?

Gronwall has got a tour with Schenker lined up, at least as intense as what Skid Row usually does:

Was the band paying for all of Gronwall’s flights over from Europe the whole time? That alone could create a lot of decent if the band was not touring that much.

Im a fan of Erik but him being overseas was really the problem.
Skids were forced to actually do bus tours for a month plus due to that.
They couldnt do the weekend runs to lessen the amount of days with having to fly Erik back n forth
I had also heard from someone close to Erik that it definately wasnt a cordial split as Skids thought they had found their singer & there was some belief Erik took a short time gig to bolster his popularity with no real intention of being in band for longer haul.

As someone pointed out earlier, he went and joined Michael Schenker’s band for a month long tour, it’s not like he joined Guns N Roses for an 18 month tour.greengoblinrulz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 2:58 pm Im a fan of Erik but him being overseas was really the problem.

The people who pointed out the logistics of him having to fly over to the States for every show or “leg” of their casino tour doesn’t make a lot of sense long term. I don’t blame him for not wanting to move here given his health condition. He gets better care in his native country than if he moved his family over here.
Given Erik’s health condition and struggles, the fact someone told him that he is “dead” to them makes me respect the band even less and definitely bolsters the prevailing attitudes of those of us who feel that Bach wasn’t the only asshole in the band.
Rob “nice guy” Affuso has publicly admitted that he and Sebastian used to get in fist fights and he has a red line that Sebastian has to be the singer in order for him to come back.
While he handled it like a child, Sebastian wasn’t wrong about the KISS tour in 1996.

Can't find it, but there was an interview not too long after the split where Erik basically said it came down to money. Adjusting the touring schedule as would have been necessary wasn't on the table for the Skid guys

I wasn't aware of that story for a long time, and had already made up my mind that something didn't seem "right" about the situation, that the blame was always 100% on Sebastian. I laughed for probably five minutes when I found out that the breakup was due to Sebastian wanting them to open for KISS, Rachel saying they were too big for that...and then Skid Row still going on to open for KISS on the next (not quite as big) tour. Clearly, they've been their own worst enemies for a long time.Tommy2Tone84 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 4:15 pmAs someone pointed out earlier, he went and joined Michael Schenker’s band for a month long tour, it’s not like he joined Guns N Roses for an 18 month tour.greengoblinrulz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 2:58 pm Im a fan of Erik but him being overseas was really the problem.

Solinger also essentially drinking himself to death while being in the band never sat well with me either. Not saying that there's anything the guys COULD have done, and maybe they did do things and they just weren't publicized. But I dunno, something feels different about what happened with Solinger and Skid Row vs Jani and Warrant. Probably just me.

"We want to do some lucrative gigs at casinos every other weekend" sounds like a good argument though, but they probably thinks that sounds to wimpy to say out loud.

Three week tour in Europe with short drives between cities. It's a whole different thing than flying back and forth over Atlantic.jens wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 11:56 am Gronwall has got a tour with Schenker lined up, at least as intense as what Skid Row usually does:

That’s even worse. They couldn’t do ONE show cause of Rachel’s side project?
Why didn’t they fire Bach after the Subhuman tour? The fact they did a whole tour with KISS in 2000 makes them look like d*ckheads. I saw that tour. I could’ve done without both Scab Row and Ted Blowhard

What's with Dave saying they always "wanted" to do a live album?
I guess
Oh Say Can You Scream VHS (plenty of live performances on that)
SKID ROW Moscow Peace Festival Blu Ray
Skid Row Live from Wembly 1992
SKID ROW live from London Astoria 1995
None of these count?

Were they released as live albums?

They were probably gonna fire him anyway before he quit. His concerts weren't getting good reviews. Maybe he thought he'd be more of an equal since they were friends before he joined. I remember Snake saying something along the lines of him being a good friend and not a good bandmate.

Where did I say it was positively Snake or Jimmy? There is one other guy in the band besides the fourth scab drummer.
Not to mention, your success with this website was built solely on gossip, rumors, innuendo and third-hand “bait.”
The cold, hard facts are, Dave, Jimmy and Thcotti are on their fifth or sixth singer and they’ve had too many drummers over the last twenty-five years that I don’t even care to count, it’s Scab Row. They’re Great White only they had the decency and common sense not to set their fans on fire over the ego of blowing off fire works in shitty, dive bars
Much like Ozzy, Dio, and Roth, Bach is a solo artist and is allowed to burn through as many musicians as he sees fit. It’s allowed. With a band situation, it just looks like they are as big or bigger assholes than their former singer while offering a much watered down product.
They pulled a Great White with Tony Harnell. They sort of dumped Solinger too from my recollection.
I know Rachel needs to be songwriter guy, and I’d have no problem with that if the quality of his work held up but that hasn’t been the case. The last great album they did was Subhuman Race. As much as I like TGAH, it’s not nearly as good as the first three and the stuff before it is all schlock.
Rachel seems to think he’s Bowie, Stanley/Simmons or Steve Harris but he’s not.
I say this as a huge fan. I was a bigger SR fan than I was GNR fan in 1989.
For Sebastian’s short comings, he took that band to the top of the mountain. Without him, they can be next door neighbors to Mick Jagger and they wouldn’t have gone anywhere with Matt Fallon. Matt wasn’t the singer, frontman or personality that Sebastian was and is.
Love him or hate him, without Bach there is no Skid Row. Rob “nice guy” Affuso gets it. The only ones who don’t are the three remaining stooges and you.

From my recollection he was “let go.”
It doesn’t matter. It’s easier to be a lead singer in Journey than it is in Skid Row.
Rachel thinks he’s David Bowie and he’s not.
It’s entertaining that he thinks Subhuman Race is a pos but thinks RPM is an improvement.
Rachel has proven that he doesn’t like sharing the publishing. He makes Axl look generous.
