Sanders would never win an election in this country. The mistake they made was pushing Biden aside. He's since stated that he wanted to run. His son dying was a convenient excuse after the party insisted on Clinton. I said years before that Hillary was unelectable and it was proven. She's not likable and is disingenous.

Then only once it was too late did they pivot to Kamala Harris.

At the time I was hoping for an open primary, and in hindsight, it certainly looks like it might have generated more excitement. There is someone out there that could beat Trump and Kamala was certainly hamstrung in that she couldn't say anything bad about Biden's policies. Waiting nearly three years to address immigration was a massive miscalculation. It should have been done at the beginning of year two.

Plenty changed last time he was in office though. He got 3 judges on the Supreme Court. Wade vs Roe got overturned. He pulled us out of the Paris Climate Accord. He divided half the country. There's plenty he can do in the next 4 years to really fuck up this country. He'll impose tariffs which can really fuck over a lot of jobs, we'll get more conservative judges, he can pull us out of NATO, he's certainly not going to help the climate, he has presidential immunity this time to do whatever he wants.... Things might not change for the people who work for a living tomorrow, but over the next 4 years things can really get ugly.
