Ever meet a real Satanist?
I'm not talking about atheist trolls like Anton LaVey followers. There were always rumors of Satanic ritual abuse in the 80s and most of those claims were BS. Maybe there were a few true believers in evil spirits who sacrificed animals. Ever meet one of them?

I’ve considered offering my boss as a human sacrifice. Does that count?

I've hung out with Watain (Swedish black metal band) and they are avowed Satanists. Seemed like pretty normal dudes to me.

On the tour bus I hung out on? No.
Well, Erik (vocalist) scarfed down a hot dog so I suppose to some that might constitute one or the other (or both?!).

I thought those were "devil worshippers" rather than the "Satanists" (LaVeyan, Satanic Temple, whatever).Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 10:44 amDid they do any evil rituals or sacrifices?Ham Stroker's Ejacula wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 10:42 am I've hung out with Watain (Swedish black metal band) and they are avowed Satanists. The "Satanists" I met growing up seemed to have trouble finding a decent job and staying off public assistance. When I read TSB and learned about lesser magic growing up, it seemed like using applied psychology and altering appearance to manipulate others was a tool for people to succeed and accomplish their goals, instead of being a "martyr" for a cause that didn't exist, but most Satanists preferred to dress the same exact way, flash their baphomets to say "Look at me, I'm a Satanist!" rather than actually succeed in life.

Speaking of Swedish black metallers, I met Jon Nödtveidt of Dissection once before they released their first album. Think he was at a club reviewing a show for Metal Zone magazine which he wrote for at the time. He seemed rather intelligent, and pretty normal.... for a guy who later murdered a gay immigrant, went to prison for that and eventually shot himself.Ham Stroker's Ejacula wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 10:42 am I've hung out with Watain (Swedish black metal band) and they are avowed Satanists. Those kooky Satanists and their crazy beliefs...
The 7 Tenets of The Satanic Temple
I
One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.
II
The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
III
One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
IV
The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.
V
Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.
VI
People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.
VII
Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
