Can't imagine anyone has heard of the band Syre. From Toronto and played a million shows around 85-89 . Saw them a ton of times and was always a good time.

I have. I was in Toronto 1989. Never saw them but a buddy saw them in 1990 and bought a tape at the show so I have heard their album.

Second best obscure TO band, Slash Puppet were better IMO. Have two of their cds and some bootleg shows.

Edit, just saw I forgot to post the Slash Puppet link. Anybody got this on cd and want to get rid of it?

Toronto, from 1983. This wasn't even released as a single.

I've heard that one and "Say Hi to My Girlfriend". Good glammy Canadian hair metal.

Here's one for ya, Sludgers: Nudeswirl - "F-Sharp". Decent grunge from 1993. B&B roasted the video on an episode as well.

I lot of people here like White Lion, but a lot less like Mike Tramp’s solo output.
Here is a solo song that I think is absolutely great.

Good band. Originally they had three bassists, but one had to switch to guitar. They are still around.

First band I ever stagedived to. I pulled out their God Fodder album for the first time in ages just a fortnight ago and it still holds up.

I'll offer Machine Religion by Whirlpool, opening track of their album Liquid Glass. Melodic hardcore from 1996. I bought it at random and was hooked from the very first note, that sounds like the perfect resonance when you flick a heavy glass fishbowl. Beautiful female singing, complemented by and sometimes harmonising with half-sung, half shouty male vocals, and it ends on that exact same note. It instantly became my favourite album ever, and it still is nearly 30 years on.

Ok I will post some as I get time , the first one is from a local band Crystal Pistol

https://youtu.be/9FNsFJ1x_lQ?si=7QoXzFjeEfkTa96U

Fun catchy song with the dirty rock n roll attitude .

Saw them a number of times over the years and went to their final farewell concert after travelling back from Seattle that day . Made the 3 hour+ drive in record time , with only 10 minutes to spare till they hit the stage .

Here is an even better band with an absolutely killer song.
It reminds me why we fell In love with Metal in the first place !

Crank this one up ! And enjoy one of the best songs most have never heard of.

I got goosebumps the first time I heard this song many years ago , from a band I was not even aware of before , and then listened to their whole album and was super impressed. Too bad they never got better known for some reason . Would have been awesome to see them live .

Toronto also wrote a little song called "What About Love". The band rejected it and only released it on some compilation many years later.

In the meantime, it became a worldwide hit when covered by Heart.

I mean, it’s not terrible. It’s perfectly serviceable. It’s about as good as a filler song on Judas Priest Defenders of the Faith or something.
Agree. Somehow no band was able to pull off that Judas Priest early 80s style very well. There's a ton of bands that tried but this is about as good as it gets. It wouldn't be obvious filler on SFV or Defenders, but far from the best song. Maybe top 3 on Ram It Down.

I knew the name but for some reason thought they were one of those Japanese female power metal bands that Traxxan (and me to a lesser extent) likes. Wasn't expecting Brazilian prog. Not my usual interest, but that was very good.
