Is Stub Hub legit?
For the last 20 years, the only tickets I have bought are club/theater/lawn tickets at the door. I'm looking for tickets for Ghost in Raleigh. Stub Hub tickets are slightly less for the same section as Ticket master (and Ticket Master wont let me buy just 2 tickets .......)

Yup. It's a legit ticket reseller. I have bought and sold tickets on there before..

Be careful. Make sure you get what you think you're paying for. They used to be the gold standard but they've slipped a little.
Re: Is Stub Hub legit?
Yes they're legit.
I've bought and sold on StubHub for over a decade and never had a problem.
I'm going to Dead & Company at The Sphere in Las Vegas in March. Wasn't sure if I could get the time off work so I held off on initial on sale purchase through Ticketmaster.
Once I got the time off from work confirmed, I grabbed tickets off StubHub (just yesterday actually) and within minutes of the purchase the seller transferred the tickets to my Ticketmaster account (which was the original ticket merchant).
You need to remember that Ticketmaster has all in fees listed up front except for local taxes.
With StubHub, there are added fees tacked onto the original amount you see listed. It still ends up cheaper than TM most of the time, probably because StubHubs fees are lower but still...keep that in mind while you're going through the purchasing process. The price you see at the very beginning of the purchase process on StubHub will be significantly higher when you get to the end of the cart/checkout.

You can select "estimated" fees before buying with Stubhub, btw.

They're legit but I like Tickpick better because the price they show is the actual price it will cost you, no extra fees. Yes, I realize the fees are built in but I hate with Stubhub, Seat Geek, etc.. seeing $50 dollar tickets and when you go to checkout, there's another $50 in fees. Tickpick doesn't do that.

Buy some lube for the fees . . .

I ONLY buy last minute / secondary. I use Tickpick first and VividSeats 2nd, I completely avoid Stubhub, even for selling.
Company has been totally in the shitter since the sale to ViaGoGo in 2020.
Keep in mind they are 95% with the same tickets, with the tilt to Stubhub and a lot of the issues being caused by amateur sellers.
If the show is next summer no reason you should be buying now. If you are buying off a secondary site day or week of is the best bet. Sometimes the market bottom is the day before or the morning of.

Agreed. Tickpick is my choice. They are all pulling from the same pool of tickets anyways.
I've scored some great last-minute tickets as well.

Stub Hub sounds like an amputee porn site.

I got really lucky several years ago where I bought my mom Rolling Stones tickets. They were floor seats but in the back. Stub Hub called me to advise that the seller could not deliver the tickets. Thanks to their "guaranteed sale" policy, they got me new tickets and they were like 10th row! The Stones have the ramp too so when Mick walked out, he was so close you could touch him. Good deal for the madre.
Me? Not so lucky.
The last 2 purchases I made fell through. The first time they had NO other tickets. They just flat out gave me a refund. Even worse, is I was already at the venue!
And then just last week, it happened again and the best they could offer was WORSE tickets and didn't even offer to pay the cost difference! So I just took the refund there as well.
So yeah...it's legit but sucks just as much as ticketmaster.

I used to use them pretty regularly, but switched to Seatgeek. Felt like I was getting better deals there.

I've used it a bunch mainly for last minute tickets. You'll get in cheap, but they'll hit you up on the way out with fees.

Re: Is Stub Hub legit?
Going to the same next Spring. Went this past June and Stubhub was lesser than TM. If you can risk it, Stubhub is pretty good on day before or day of show. The prices usually start dropping. What was originally crazy $600-700 priced seats on TM were $200 on Stubhub.
Re: Is Stub Hub legit?
They're legit but it's a big case of buyer beware. The seller still has to release the tickets otherwise you're shit out of luck.
I've used it to get concert tix and hockey tix and in each case I finally got them just a couple hours before the event which is cutting it rather close. Just this fall, my brother and sis-in-law roadtripped from Chicago to Indianapolis for the Bears/Colts game. Tickets never arrived and they had to drive back home. They did get a full and immediate refund which StubHub is pretty good about, but at the end of the day the seller still has to provide the tickets, and if that person forgets, dies, or just doesn't give a shit, you simply wasted your time and money.

Re: Is Stub Hub legit?
These are the kinds of issues I am talking about when you are buying off a platform that let's just anyone list tickets. I am sure issues occur on other exchanges but probably less frequent or used a business strategy (sellers who don't deliver pay massive fines).RaceFan3 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 4:14 pm They're legit but it's a big case of buyer beware.
