G'N'R the epitome of a one album band? You gotta be kidding. Everything they have put out besides the Spaghetti Imcident has been from darn good to great.windycitycane wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 3:00 pmBono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 12:38 pm Boston S/T

Even though it has been talked about plenty of times around here if you took the best songs from the Illusions you would have an album that would blow Appetite out of the water. I was burning a G'N'R cd for my vehicle the other day and it really dawned on me how good some of those Illusion songs were. It really is a shame that they went the two record route and added all the filler because if you cut that out you would honestly have one if the single greatest albums of all time. If their legacy could be Appetite and a best of Illusions album they would be discussed on the same level as Zeppelin, The Beatles, and The Stones and deservedly so. Yes, they would have a significantly smaller volume of songs, but that would actually work in their favor. All three of the bands I mentioned have more than a few shit songs. If Guns' output was only Appetite and then the best 10 or 12 from the Illusions you would have maybe 3 or 4 not great songs (Think About You, Anything Goes, and maybe another one) and the rest pretty much very good to outstanding. And if they left it at that there would be a demand unlike almost anything ever seen in rock for them to do more.
Had they put out Appetite and then the best of Illusion albums and then Axl or Slash died so people were left wondering what if they may have gone down as the best band ever.

I like the illusion albums but you are really overeating them. No way the best 12 songs would compete with AFDRyan81 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 5:52 pmG'N'R the epitome of a one album band?
