Poll needs a "none of the above" option.

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

I decided to go with Stained Class and Sad Wings... for a pair of great Priest classics in "Exciter" and "Victim of Changes".

Stained Class and Killing Machine... Stained might just be the better of the two, but I really like the less intense rock and roll vibe of Killing.

Sad Wings, but all those have some great moments. And I personally like Rocka Rolla, even though they weren't really Priest yet at that point, still need to pick up the 50th anniversary reissue.

Sad Wings will always be my favorite PRIEST album. It is flawless and timeless. For me the production is fantastic even if the guitars are slightly under-distorted. The drums sound great for the time especially and Rob absolutely kills it on the entire album.

After that, I’d pick Stained Class for mostly the same reasons, but the guitar playing particularly shines on that one,

I voted Sad Wings, but gotta say I really enjoy listening to the 50th anniversary remix of Rocka Rolla that came out earlier in the year. It's actually sounds great to my ears. Not metal, but early 70's bluesy, psychedelic hard rock.

You could vote for two so I just assumed.

I haven't listened to it in years and can't remember a thing from it. I will give it a fresh listen.

“Run of the Mill” is so great. That last verse is amazing. The lyrics and the way Rob sings it are pure awesomeness.

Went with Stained by a hair over Sad Wings, as that left a more memorable impression on me, though both albums are outstanding. Kinda surprised to see so little love for Sin After Sin though, that album isnt THAT bad lol
*I kinda want a new screenname. Seriously. I barely watch racing anymore. :x

Crap production. All songs from there sound better live and they played all except Last Rose of Summer in 77.

I'm not a huge Priest person. Most of their singles are good. Their albums as a whole don't appeal. I picked Stained Class because of Beyond the Realms of Death.

This. Other than BS, Screaming and Defenders, it's a mixed bag.

1a Sad Wings
1b Stained Class
2 Sin After Sin. The first 20 seconds are the epitome of heavy metal, perfection.

Hang on, 'Unleashed' was released Sept '79 and can arguably be considered a studio album :D

That gets my vote by a mile (It's essentially Sad Wings and 'best of' the other albums)

Otherwise Sad Wings followed by Stained Class
It's good to be bad
It's the best time you'll ever have
What the hell is this ultra sad
Pray for your cool and work on that ass!
