The Fat Bat is pretty smart though. Not having a manager or crew is money well saved.

I wonder if he has a merch guy though, shirley he's not willing to leave merch money on the table!

Cool for Gene to get out and raw dog it without the KISS machine backing him. He gets to play with a well rehearsed band, talk to a few fans, harass or arrange for some gash after the show. It’s literally what Trump is doing right now. Greatest hits package.

Gene solo is the only Kiss related show I would go see . As far as quantity of performance, he’s the best option left .

Probably a typo but still accurate

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

Pretty much what KISS should've done after the first Farewell Tour in 2000. Take the makeup off, and just play shows with random setlists, on-stage guests, and general fuckery for the fun of it. I get the name, business & image were too big for that, but it might've been more interesting than how they eventually went out.

So fake band should become a real band in order to pursue integrity over money... are you new to KISS?

Nobody disagrees that Gene is about money & he's getting paid for these shows, but I do think he just is having fun going out with different guys & playing without the crazyness of the Kiss tour (makeup, setup, staging, etc)
I havent seen him on this run but did his previous 7 yrs ago
Also heard that if you can get beyond his "persona" that he loves to show off, behind the scenes he's a good guy to people in real life.

I drove by Gene's house on Christmas. Big fancy place. And I know if was his house because they were parking meters on the roof.

Agree with all of this. Saw him play amusement parks both last year and in 2018 and he's clearly having fun. Inviting fans to play, doing Mountain and Zeppelin covers etc is what he wants to do now, not carry 50 pounds of ger, spit blood and play Calling Dr Love for the 2500th time. He even hangs out with age appropriate groupies, 50-ish and not 20.

Haven't met him on those tours but in the 80s and 90s he seemed to enjoy meeting fans while in 2013 he was all "persona".

Think any of Gene's motivation to play solo/live, is a "FU" to Paula?, seeing as how there is no way Paul could pull it off?

Probably. He's showing Paul how it's done without the backing tracks.

It would be very un-Genelike to have anything other than sex, money or success as a motivation to do anything.
(And he is smart enough to know that without Paul, and to some extent Ace and Peter, he would have had a lot less of all three during the last 50 years....)
