Normally, his band carries him and makes him seem almost okay....but every they couldn't save that performance.

Goddamn, that was embarrassing. Whatever he pays the backing band isn't enough.
Re: Frehley mangles Deuce
God damn!! Not just the solos but the little licks between lines in the second verse are a disaster. Wow! (and so easy to play, even if you're fall-down drunk!)

What in the goddamn fuck was 0:50.
Rock fans are the most loyal fans ever. They’ll go see their favorite guys long past their expiry date.
At least Paul Stanley tries to stay within the song, Ace just goes into nowhere.

I've never seen Ace, so I would totally go.
A trainwreck is even more fun! I'm bummed I missed Jane's Addiction this year when Perry was all fucked up on stage.

How do you take a fairly in tune guitar and play every single note in the solo out of tune?

I saw Ace a couple years ago opening for the Coop and got a polished professional show. This is an trainwreck. Just awful.
God bless his band, they deserve so much better.

Re: Frehley mangles Deuce
I mangled a deuce about 20 minutes ago. It was glorious.
Expectations are not high with Ace Frehley. I think the fans know they’re not getting a virtuoso. At this point, they probably just want to see their hero from 1976. It just adds to the comedy that he butchers the solos and timing of the words. It is pretty sad, but the guy is 70 whatever years old. I’m not paying to see him but good for him for still being out there and doing it. it makes for some idle entertainment on metal sludge.. It won’t be long before his health really gives out. He may pull a Phil Collins and be out there in a wheelchair before it’s all over with.

Re: Frehley mangles Deuce
This %100. As long as Kisstards and Acetards will still shell out their hard-earned money to see him regardless of how he sounds, he'll be out there doing what he enjoys most: performing for them and making a quick buck off of them.Michael Hotts Ghost wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 11:53 am Expectations are not high with Ace Frehley. Re: Frehley mangles Deuce
I gave it a spin thinking 'it can't be that bad' ... WRONG
I heard something that gave me a reaction like I got stabbed in the ear about 1 min in and had to turn it off
I'm mystified how people can listen to this, it's a special skill I don't have, and never will.
It's good to be bad
It's the best time you'll ever have
What the hell is this ultra sad
Pray for your cool and work on that ass!

Re: Frehley mangles Deuce
There are six-year old kids on YT who can play fucking circles around him on his best day, now and in the '70s. If not for the Spaceman schtick, this clown would never have been heard of by anyone other than his parents

I think that's pretty good playing for having 10 broken fingers.

I'm a firm believer that "Do It!" should be saved for the second verse only. But that is far from my biggest complaint about this performance.

I’ve always been a firm believer in tuning your guitar before playing in public. My high school bands weren’t great…but our instruments were tuned. Inexcusable for a “pro” to do this.

I haven't seen Ace since he toured with Cooper.
It was fun while it lasted, but it's more sad than fun at this point.

This.
Jesus, can't blame Gene and Paul for not wanting to play with him.
Re: Frehley mangles Deuce
It's a mystery why he wasn't invited to play any KISS farewell shows.

He should just switch to rhythm guitar and let the other guys sing. People would still go and it would sound better.Black Stuff wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:19 amBahaha wont happen as long as he gets hired and people go.

His timing would probably be terrible, plus he'd be just as likely to play the wrong chords all over the place.HueyRamone wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:49 amHe should just switch to rhythm guitar and let the other guys sing. Maybe he does these things just to screw with the band?
