His license has been expired since 2021, the car wasn’t registered. He didn’t have a front plate. He was conveniently going to the dmv THAT day? Also, since covid you need a an appointment, you can’t just walk into the dmv so that’s already a lie on his part…..

The rookie cop did the right thing, he probably would have been fired if this hit YouTube and we saw that he gave him a pass. I can’t believe people are simping for this clown. He really said “they know me”
I’ve lived in nj the majority of my life and hate NJ cops and have been towed because my registration was expired for a week. Why does he deserve special treatment?

1) He clearly was there to handle what needed to be done.
2) Right or wrong he probably knows people and doesn't need an appointment. But even if he did or was turned away he was there trying to take care of it. I didn't get the vibe he was making up the story seeing he had an envelope full of documents.
3) He deserves special treatment because he was literally a stones throw away from the DMV with all his paperwork in hand to take care of it and that's what he was there for. Nothing to do with celebrity (I didnt get the vibe the cop knew who he was anyways), the cop should have just let him leave the car there and walk over to do what he was there to do.

I've had my car towed a couple times because of it being unregistered. The first time I was about 18 and didn't have a clue that registrations expired and the second time was about 5 years ago and it had expired and I didn't notice. Both times I was nowhere near a DMV or planning on getting it sorted. It sucked but I understood they can't let you drive an unregistered vehicle.

But if I got pulled over within walking distance of the DMV on my way to the DMV, I'd be pissed too if the cop chose to tow my car just to bust my balls.

I'd understand a ticket but there was no reason to tow it.

If he “knows people” why did it take four years. He lives in Edgewater, he’s been living in that area for 20 years. He thinks he’s above the law, simple as that. He drives every single day to work in that area without having his shit in order….could have made an appointment years ago and had it squared away. I don’t think a tow is going to hurt him.

All of that may be true. The cop still could have ticketed him and just let him walk over to the DMV and handle it.

You must be one of those people mentioned on p1 who thinks Ice T only owns 1 car.

I have multiple cars and motorcycles. I’m an adult and know when my shit is due, if you don’t pay, this happens in NJ. It wasn’t a week or a month, it was years.

I',m not trying to be sludgy or anything, I just think it's silly to assume that the people who disagree with the way Ice-T dealt with this issue do so because he's "black".

I'm a fan, not necessarily a "big" one.

it's more of knowing how some police officers are.

definitely not referring to all of the critics on the thread, my (lighthearted) comment was more geared towards the people who don't usually chime in on anything, yet have an opinion here.

I just listened to Ice-T's Original Gangster album...pretty weak, the beats are lacking bigtime...but it has an "offensive language" sticker on the cover, so it went gold!

Cop should have killed him for being a mediocre rapper!

"...fuck the police..." (Ya Shoulda Killed Me Last Year, off of the above-mentioned album)

And a lot more vehicles too.

This car had probably been stored in a garage where he hadn't even opened the door since 2021. "What've we got in here? Ohhh, that one. Shit, better get it re-taxed."

I loved it at the time and was super excited for the follow up on the day of release. Super letdown.

I still listen to O.G. occasionally there's some great stuff on there but probably could use a little pruning on the final track list.

What do you think of Death Certificate? Ice Cube's album from that same year... Now THAT is a killer rap album. Cube buries T. In fact, the only weak album in Cube's discography is I Am the West. His delivery and raps are stronger, and the same can be said of his albums' beats/music, Ice-T is lite, he should have turned up the bass on his tunes.

Definitely agree. Ice Cube is awesome. Much stronger artist than Ice-T. Pre-OG Ice-T was way too simplistic and 80's rap sounding, OG had some great tunes and some filler, and I dropped out after Home Invasion. (I don't think I even know what happened after that if anything.)

Ice Cube has always been solid. I am a big fan of his Bootlegs and B-Sides release.
