Gonna have to go with "Promise Me," the song he did for Vince Neil's facelift show.

The correct answer is "I Was Made For Lovin' You".

I'll go a bit off the board, but my Favorite Billy Squier song is Stonger. Found out a while ago he co-wrote it.
The stuff he wrote with the Scorpions on Hour 1 was great as well.

There's a lot great ones, but I'll go with Bad Medicine.
In Finland we have this thing called "Reilu Meininki".
Re: What's your favorite Desmond Child jam?
His Ratt Detonator stuff for sure.
Re: What's your favorite Desmond Child jam?
Honestly, it could be Born To Be My Baby. That double-chorus or whateverthefuck you'd call it is brilliant.

Poison. His songs with Alice Cooper on Trash and Stoopid were brilliant - Bed of Nails, Might as Well Be on Mars, I'm Your Gun.... and the Cooper/Child song Robin Beck recorded, Hold Back the Night.

You'll find most of them listed on Desmond's Wikipedia page.

Bonfire's The Price of Loving You deserves a mention by the way, a great but forgotten song.

If any of his songs will be remembered in 100 years time, it will be Livin' la Vida Loca.
Thàt's a jam.

I love them all! I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert a few years ago in NYC. He had some guy named Justin Benlolo singing a few songs and he KILLED it on "How Can We Be Lovers":

Check out the entire live album. His version of Aerosmith "Angel" is really good too. Desmond himself sings that one:

Re: What's your favorite Desmond Child jam?
Currently reading his book and just now getting to the point where he's starting to write with other artists.
For the songs of his I know, gotta go with I Was Made for Loving You as my favorite.
His cowrites on Detonator are great too.
I didn't realize he cowrote Born To Be My Baby, so that's another good pick. I never wanna hear You Give Love a Bad Name ever again in my life.

I wanted to get his book, but most of the reviews I read said it doesn't really get into any interesting details of the songs he wrote.Indy_Rob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:44 pm Currently reading his book and just now getting to the point where he's starting to write with other artists.

I read it and, that is exactly true. Not enough on the song writing collaborations and too much about his personal life. I don’t think he mentioned RATT for more than a sentence.Fat_Elvis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:58 pmI wanted to get his book, but most of the reviews I read said it doesn't really get into any interesting details of the songs he wrote.Indy_Rob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:44 pm Currently reading his book and just now getting to the point where he's starting to write with other artists.

I was disappointed, I would pass IMO.

Re: What's your favorite Desmond Child jam?
So far it's just ok. The first 100 pages or so was about his childhood and teens/early-20s. It has focused too much on his parents and family. Not that interesting to me but we'll see how the rest of the book goes. I really wanted to hear about his collaborations so it sounds like I'm gonna be disappointed.windycitycane wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:54 pmI read it and, that is exactly true.
