DLR-era Van Halen seems to be universally praised with no weak links.

They don’t count as 80s hair metal but I think it still counts as a Sludge band.

I was a huge Skids fan and gave Sebastian's solo stuff a chance on streaming. The only song that still sticks in my mind is Love Is a Bitchslap. I also prefer the gritty production of the Skids albums. His solo albums have little focus with cover tunes mixed in and a variety of outside writers.
