It cracks me up that "Rock You Like A Hurricane" is often played at family events such as air shows.
The lyrics (which I guess most of the moms and dads aren't too aware of) aren't particularly family friendly, are they?

As long as I'm learning something, I figure I'm OK - it's a decent day.

Furman University up in Greenville, SC has played the instrumental beginning to “Hurricane 2000” at the start of every home football game. (Been to a few of ‘em watching my family’s Georgia Southern Eagles play against Furman). That’s close enough to family-friendly, I suppose.Turner Coates wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 6:42 pm It cracks me up that "Rock You Like A Hurricane" is often played at family events such as air shows.

Priest was outstanding at Dortmund! That performance of Victim Of Changes is one of my all time favorite things to watch. The only thing that might be a better performance is a blowjob that Amber Lynn gave Peter North in a movie called Erotic Dreams from 1984 or '85. It was also remixed for Swedish Erotica'a Amber Lynn showcase video.Love_Industry wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 3:02 am
Not going to argue, but Judas Priest kicked their and everyone else's ass at Dortmund. THEY were the best live band in metal 83-88, and most of the time before that. Their only problem earlier was that Halford was inconsistent while on DOTF, Turbo and Ram It Down he nailed it on every bootleg I've heard.
But Halford sounded so good at Dortmund is was unreal. Listen to him on Riding On The Wind. Amazing stuff! Another amazing fact is they should've been somewhat rusty for that performance because I don't think they had played a show for a while at that point. The Vengeance tour had been over for a while. I'd imagine Dortmund took place during the recording of Defenders?
The Scorps were no slouches that day either though:

Its a travesty that they recorded the full Dortmund Priest show, but only released a portion. I havent been so dissapointed since I watched a movie called Erotic Dreams from 1984 or '85, and it didnt include the money shot.Ryan81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:21 pm

Nope, they played a short UK tour in December just before Dortmund, but you're right that the SFV tour ended in February, then they only played one show at the US Festival in May before going to the UK in December.Ryan81 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:21 pm Another amazing fact is they should've been somewhat rusty for that performance because I don't think they had played a show for a while at that point. Defenders was ready for release when they played Dortmund. The Freewheel Burning single may have been out already as they played it on that UK tour and also live on British TV in December(The Tube show).
