Ranger/involved with the logistics of sending crews to battle the CA fires, he said the state has requested help from out of State Fire Depts., (Oregon, Mexico, etc.), however part of the process (once crews have arrived) is safety checks on equipment, and in turn CA is turning away crews if their trucks don't meet CA's stringent emission regulations.........

Like 31%. My gf was all excited because that is a lot higher than previous containment reports of 0% and 17%. I said thats still pretty low, and was told I was being a buzzkill

My brother’s house in Pacific Palisades is gone. He has insurance but guesses it will be a good 3 years before the home rebuilt. In the meantime, what to do.

Can he afford to continuing paying the mortgage and a rent a place too? Not sure about that. The rents in Southern Cal. already high are sure to skyrocket.

He could probably clear 1M after selling the land and collect a 300k check from their insurance company. However, he doesn’t want to get lowballed for the land given the sharks will be out.

Brother and wife dropped 40k last year on a 10-day trip to Africa so they must have money. Yet, not too sure. Found out my brother hasn’t worked in the past several months and wife is trying her luck as "life coach."

Wife inherited 2.5M a couple of years back so they were living the good live. But the wife gave 500k to father and spent another 100k on daughters’ college tuition. (Two kids are adults and have moved away.)

Now, I own rental property here in the Phx metro (Chandler, Gilbert and E. Mesa) which I realize isn’t Pacific Palisades, Malibu, ect but the locations are residential, quiet and safe. Brother is no problem.

Unfortunately, I can see the wife bitching she doesn't like this and doesn't like that. Personally, I don't need the drama at my age (67) so I'm telling them none of the lease agreements will end until Nov.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Right now, brother and wife are in SF renting a motel room on Lombard Street. (Son lives in SF.)

Sounds like the best solution would be for your brother to ditch his wife and stay at your place untill he gets back on his feet. Sounds like that 2.5mil is long gone and she is a pain in the ass.

Jeez. 2.5 mil is enough to retire and live on 100k a year )or use that as a base and earn as well) blows my mind that people just eat it up, so they can live precariously

It depends who's announced for the 2025 Concert Series on Fremont Street. Last summer was Seether, Hoobastank, Chris Janson, Sebastian Bach, Joe Nichols, Sublime, and Rick Springfield.

I think we at least need Slaughter and Kip Moore on Fremont Street this summer to get him to Downtown Las Vegas.
