Savatage is back! With the good singer!
I see they’re playing a bunch of European shows and festivals. Anyone going?
As a bonus, Zak is on vocals exclusively!!!! If they play in the US (in Charlotte specifically…wouldn’t travel more than 20-30 miles), I’d go see this lineup. I saw them with the original guy. Yikes! Love to see them with the upgrade in place.
Wonder if they still play their big hit?

Wait. What's their "hit"? Hall of the Mountain King? Handful of Rain? Edge of Thorns?

Edge of Thorns did fairly well on Rock radio in '93.

I'm thinking about the London show, even though it's on a Monday night and it'll be a total sausage-fest. I've never seen them and I like most stuff up to Gutter Ballet (except I've never heard Fight For The Rock), though Streets bored me rigid and I've no idea who's in the band since Criss died.

“When the Crowds are Gone” was pretty big on ZRock back in the day.Anthrax442 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 3:08 pm Wait. What's their "hit"? Hall of the Mountain King? Handful of Rain? Edge of Thorns?

I bought Wake of Magellan back in the day because Handful of Rain had been fairly popular on the local classic rock station a few years before. I don't remember a damn thing about it.HueyRamone wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 3:23 pmMan knows his 'Tage...Anthrax442 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 3:08 pm Wait. What's their "hit"? I know a chick who's a big fan, she's going to catch them at Hellfest or abroad somewhere...

Jon is the "good" and only singer as far as I'm concerned. I saw them in '85 and love those early albums. His voice was awesome as hell and he was a major influence on me along with David Wayne from Metal Church.

Jon would be the preferred option, but he's probably well over 300 lbs and doing just fine with his piece of the TSO machine. (I guess I'm assuming he gets a piece of that.) He doesn't need the hassle.
Good for the rest of the guys for giving it a go. If it can't be Jon, then Zach in the only other choice. He performed well on the post-Streets records. I've enjoyed both versions of the band and would gladly shell out some of my hard earned money to see them. Sounds like they want to do more than just the festival gigs.

It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.

I think Jon was over 500 the last time I saw him. He’s reality TV fat.LillianRoxyFA wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:51 am Jon would be the preferred option, but he's probably well over 300 lbs and doing just fine with his piece of the TSO machine.
