Rooster is one of the better Alice in chain songs but it still gets boring after a couple of minutes
I'm also glad you put Alice in chains song rooster instead of Layne Staley's pet rooster. It would have been a more difficult choice if it was the latter.

One and not close. Rooster is ok but not even one of the better AIC songs IMO.

Kind of a random pairing, but okay. Both great songs, but I went with Metallica here. Just perfect classic thrash, even if Newsted's bass got mixed out of it.

I like Metallica, but this was the only song they played on MTV back in the day, over and over and over and over ... maybe I just got sick of it but I wasn't a fan even from when I first heard it. Howz about play DYERS EVE instead!!

One has nice acoustic guitar but gets silly especially all the gurning in the video
Rooster has good harmonies but not their not exciting song
Both are a bit overwrought
Metallica is best when doing stuff like for whom the bell tolls or enter sandman, cartoonish and silly but good music that just drives forward relentlessly and suits hetfields one dimensional singing
AIC are best when being a bit faster OR for this slower stuff strip it back like nutshell or heaven beside you.
I think bands doing Vietnam songs felt they had to do something cinematic and Grammy winning whereas they should’ve been less pretentious and kept it shorter
