Gorgeous! Is that the model Eddie based his guitar off of? I assumed all those celebrity guitars were just modified versions of stock models.

And what model is that Peavey guitar you posted?

I was completely discouraged when I picked up a BC Rich and some Ibanez guitars. I'm pretty sure they were all made from cheap bass wood. They literally just sounded like metal strings on cheap wood. No magic whatsoever.

I went with other because for just a ‘one size fits most’ guitar I’ll usually prefer to go with a PRS or a MusicMan.

As far as favorite that’s sort of ridiculous. Depends what I’m playing. Great Les Pauls and great Strats both have their place.

My favorite is a Shishkov DC semi-hollow. Pick ups voiced for Classic Rock and untouchable build quality.

Honorable mention to my Jackson Soloist (all about the neck) and my Kiesel Aries.

i like jacksons but have a charvel, a bunch of ibanezes, a yamaha pacifica 12 string electric and a strat mutt with a one piece flame maple neck...love em all...never was a gibson fan as i started on 25.5" scale and the shorter scale just kinda messes with me these days...d.m.

I've owned Gibsons, Fender, Yamaha, Peavey and BC Rich electrics over the last 30 years. When I started playing I thought Gibson Les Pauls were the greatest things ever but the last 15 years all I ever picked up was my Fender Strat and now I'm pretty much exclusively playing my Fender telecaster...can't see myself ever owning a Gibson again..

I believe these are both EVH played/designed guitars
https://youtu.be/Pnu6HF5BdqQ?si=Kt2JYn1oAIwVrJQq

Which is kind of weird because I’m not really an EVH nutswinger.
I love Ibanez necks, but the pickups don’t really sound good.
I had bought a dozen $700-$1,000 guitars and they were decent (Washburn Nuno with Bill Lawrence pickups sound great)
But finally decided to spend some real $$$ on good guitars, that I would be 100% satisfied with.
Couldn’t have picked 2 better models.
The EB has more of an Ibanez Wizard type neck while the Peavey has more of a C shaped radius

From that list Fender. I think the American Standard Strat is the greatest guitar ever made.

I've always been partial to Ibanez JS for shred.
I"m not too fond of Gibson. I had a '78 Les Paul Deluxe. While the guitar was amazing and I was lucky to have had it, I just was never as comfortable on it as the others.

I play Gretsch 6120s now more than any others. I have seven now. I bought an 5120 Electomatic from a pawn shop a while back to see how I felt about hollowbodies ( after looking into them a little bit I realized I overpaid lol ). I ended up really liking it. I gave the Electromatic away and started buying prolines. Every time I think I don't need another....I find an excuse to get one more.

As you seem to probably know more about BC Rich than I ever would.
If I post photos of my BC Rich , it is a mid 80’s NJ series , Made in Japan , Mockingbird .

Could you tell me more about it ?

As after I bought it new , I never really touched it but now my son has been learning and playing it . I never really learned so is awesome to see him playing it and would be cool to tell him more about it .

Interesting to see all of the "I like the Fender tone, but Gibson plays better" because it seems like I've always heard the opposite from guitar player friends.

Honest questions, what's your main motivation for having 7 of the same model? Are there subtle difference? Just different colors/woods? Fuck it I want 7?

Yes. They have differences and I have them modified after I make the purchase too. All 7 are different ( all are the same size except the BSSMK which is 2.5" instead of 2.75" I prefer 2.75" )

I'm going to list the models and differences/changes I've made:
1. G6120 DS. Vcut Bigsby 7/8" spring. TV Jones DeArmond pickups. pinned AOM bridge. Schaller M6-135 tuners. Stl 1550 frets. No mud switch. Tone knob. All chrome hardware. Western Orange.
2. G6120-1959. Vcut Bigsby 7/8" spring. TV Jones Ray Butte pickups.Gold Space Control bridge. removed mud switch. black pickguard. Stl 1470 frets. Schaller M6-135 locking tuners. Chrome hardware. Vintage Orange.
3. G6120 BSHRTB. This is completely stock black hot rod. I did replace the Bigsby spring with a 7/8" one though.
4. G6120 59VS. V cut Bigsby 7/8" spring. TV Jones Classic pickups. pinned AOM bridge. removed mud switch. Stl 1470 frets. Schaller M6-135 locking tuners. All chrome hardware. I think this is vintage orange.
5. G6120-Golden Anniversary Vcut Bigsby 7/8" spring. TV Jones Classic pickups. Stl 1550 frets. Pinned AOM bridge. Reversed mud and pickup switch. Schaller M6-135 locking tuners. Golden Anniversary color? Looks green/gold.
6. G6120-BSSMK The "Smoke." Completely stock. The build quality is incredible and the Smoke Orange color is beautiful. However, this is not a favorite since it's 2.5" and not 2.75." It's subtle, but I like .25 difference. I'm parting with this one some time this year.
7. G6120 59VS Exact same as #4 except with the reverse mud and pickup switch.

Each one of these guitars plays, sounds, and feels slightly different. It's hard to put into words. I've had the exact same strats just different colors and they were exactly the same. These are not. Each one has a different growl and vibration with the amp, feel of the neck. It's amazing.

As I stated earlier. I bought one of lower-end models in a pawn shop to get a feel for it. I dug it. Bought the Hot Rod since I wanted a quality one. I was so into how it played and sounded I wanted to try more. One of the coolest things about them is how easy they are to modify ( I recommend having a good luthier ).

*edit

Bridge on one is a Space Control, not string spacer.

I can’t believe there isn’t more Charvel love. Not even a choice? Unless you consider them Fenders, cause they own ‘em.

My vote is for Charvel. Fantastic guitars .

No bullshit here. Fell in love with BC after seeing Paul's Leopard print Eagle on a poster back in 1982/1983. Then once I saw the Warlock it was all over. I can list the ones I currently have if that would make you feel better LOL I think I posted one of them in El Toro's guitar thread years ago... maybe.
