As someone who saw Joan with her weird Svengali manager/guru open on the Stadium tour, I really wonder how she's getting booked on these big tours. She can't fill 40 minutes.

Wouldn't mind seeing Billy Idol before he's not around anymore, though, never seen him in concert. And I'm sure it's a routing thing, but the tour is in sheds here, not arenas.

He played the Vancouver arena last year. In 2023 he played at the fair which I saw. It was a decent show but no temptation to see him at the arena at the prices they were charging

Joan's draw went way up after the Runaways movie. As usual Live Nation is selling the package and she augments a lot of them really well across genres. But I was flipping theatre tickets easily pre pandemic.

Los Angeles doesn't really have a shed so the Forum usually substitutes now. It does concerts only and they regularly book acts that draw a few thousand. Their main business is running one of the most expensive and in demand parking lots in the city. Even 2000 cars is $100,000. I really have no idea what concessions per caps are now but 20 years it was $10. So that's another 50,000-100,000 plus.

Check out this place for Forum parking, it's the elementary school right across the street so you can get out a LOT quicker after the show. https://www.kelsoparking.com/ I parked there for the Robbie Robertson tribute and had no issues. It's not cheaper though, around $50.

For cheaper try SpotHero https://spothero.com/ I used this for Metallica night 2 and it was WAY better than getting stuck in (at least) 1 hour jam getting out. I parked a little ways away behind a Fried Chicken place, it was surprisingly legit, they had a guy checking the plates and keeping an eye on things.

Spothero gave me place for Lauper Clipper Skydome show..1.5 miles away for 15$…way past the Sizzler.. that’s the place to park for all the horrible venues locations in the area..its 24 hour hospital place ..for all these places in Inglewood..boo

It doesn't matter. Seeing the sold out sign on theatres and clubs across the country might be good for the ego but doesn't pay as much as making room for everyone who wants to go. This will also easily be a $25 sale show too.

It will be like the semi-annual Styx / REO tour. Some shows will draw 4000 and others 15000

I just take the bus.

But I won't take my girlfriend on the bus. For SoFi we found a really good spot not far from the 7-11 that still $50 but way less than any other lot and in the range of what she will walk. And I love that 7-11 because they have the espresso machine, my favorite pre-show drink.

And just to add for all the people who haven't figured out in 25+ years of Sludgin' that you don't have to sell 18,000 tickets to play the Tampax Pavilion -

Most bands tour plans for summer 2025 were mapped out months ago. Any 2025 shed tour announced from here on out is basically LiveNation filling in the open dates on the sheds they own and run across the country so they can schedule employees and pre-order beer cups. They are the ones calling the booking agents with the pitch, not vice/versa. Billy Idol who mostly does fly ins and limited stretches as opposed to actual tours will probably make more money this summer than any single year in his life.

I always liked Joan Ok until I saw that documentary where she complains the whole time about how females never get a fair chance in RnR. Um, Joan, if you weren’t all a bunch of jailbait girls showing tits and ass none of the runaways would have ever been anywhere near the map let alone on it. FFS. What is so hard to understand about this? You’re only famous BECAUSE you are a female. Not because you can play, sing or write great songs. It’s because you were pretty. A dude or a fat chick doing the same exact thing couldn’t have gotten arrested with your talent or songs.

The tour teaser video was witty and really well done.

As other mentioned, this isn't about them being fill 10,000, much less 20,000 arenas/ amphitheaters. It's about Live Nation making something on an otherwise night of zero revenue: parking, concessions, and tickets will make it profitable, and they will paper another few thousands with virtually free tickets (again, for the parking, concessions and cut of merch). Win: win.

But in NO world are Billy and Joan Jett normally a full-arena show at "normal" ticket prices.
Cyndi Lauper is not comparable: 1) it was a farewell tour; 2) she rarely toured and 3) with Kinky Boots, her catalogue revived a bit and she is a stronger nostalgia act than Billy and Joan.

And don't get me wrong: I love Billy Idol and Joan Jett....

Both Billy and Joan are the epitome of the types of artists who outkick their legacy coverage 20-30-40 years after their prime because they cultivated an image of being more cool and timeless than they really were musically.

I don't give a crap about Journey, and adding Toto made it a double bummer!
