It’s sucked for years and it’s only going to get worse. It’s an 80s rock festival and father time is undefeated.

I’d love to hear the complainers’ ideas for improving it.

I have an idea and laugh if you want but maybe consider mixing in some popular 80s rappers? Someone dust off RUN-DMC, 2 Live Crew, Public Enemy, Tone Loc. c’mon… Funky Cold Medina?

I think the crowd would eat it up, and it would freshen things up some. (In a stale, near-death sorta way)

As I predicted in my "Boardwalk Rock Fest - The Death of M3?" post --
https://forums.metalsludge.tv/forums/vi ... k#p7807653

M3 has been coasting for years booking the same old shit. No new blood. No special anniversary/full album/whatever sets. No exclusive/rare/one-off performances by headliners. I'll give them credit for going outside their usual toy box this year for DLR and for landing the Pearcy/Warren thing, but that's nowhere enough firepower to compete against the Boardwalk lineup, which features a half-dozen A/B-level '80s rock acts.

As for Night #1, I assumed that it would take place at a local club as opposed to the amphitheater -- but if that's not the case, yikes.

Can any of these acts headline anything bigger than a large club/casino at best?

Merriweather Pavilion Capacity, is 19,319.

Bach can pull 319 pretty easily and probably can pull 600-800, then on occasion, 1,000.

But... him alone, with Snake Charmer, or whatever the Fuck they're called... it's going to be a blood bath in those seats after the 30th row!

Who ever suggested to ONLY have Bach, and the local, should resign.

Also, you can bet, that Pearcy & Warren, and Roth, got HUGE paydays... Roth for sure... as he's not stepped on stage, in how long

I bet they thought that they were gonna get everyone all stoked by unveiling DLR.

Not sure what's really wrong with the fest, it has all the usual suspects. They've just been to the well too many times?

Say what you will, but I might go. Could be the last time to ever see DLR live, and I'm still pissed that KISS replaced him with a fucking painter.

Haven't been to Baltimore other than to drive though it on 95 since high school.

It was the other way around, poor painterdude got replaced by Roth. After a couple of shows covid hit and Roth 'retired'.

Yes and no. Garibaldi started out the tour, then was replaced by Roth, and when the tour had to be rescheduled, Gene sacked Roth and brought Garibaldi back because he was cheaper.

Believe me, I was firmly planning on seeing them at Tinley Park specifically because Roth was supposed to open, and then when he got canned for Garibaldi, I didn't go.

That lineup looks hella fun, but I get it, Maryland is all about the Maryland Deathfest.

Put a lineup like that together in Frantz and there will be zero whiners, just happy fuckers willing to spend good money on fun times.

I like this year's lineup. There were times when M3 tried to expand and book non-hard rock/metal bands but it wasn't what M3 is meant to be. It would've been better if they added more non-US acts such as Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Bonfire, Pretty Maids and newer bands such as H.e.a.t, Crazy Lixx.

Yeah, I think it's fine, other than there probably needing to be another band on Friday. One the reasons why I'm considering going is there's a bunch of bands there I've never seen. Would be able to check off Sebastian, Accept, Winger, Slaughter and Lita Ford. Granted, all those bands usually end up playing the Arcada once a year, so it's not like I NEED to travel to see them, but still.

If DLR has his shit together, Saturday is actually pretty tight from a lineup perspective.

Nobody wants to see Slaughter, Winger, Vixen, Warrant or Frehley as these bands basically have no new music, same set list for decades, and have one foot in the nursing home.

The last time I saw Dave, he opened for Kiss the first week of March, 2020. I remember the date because right after that show, I took a trip to SF, came home, and then the whole world fell to shit on March 16, 2020. I haven't seen that he's toured since. But I wasn't really looking for it so I could have missed it.

M3 is a long way off. Do you think Warren & Stephen can be friends for that long?

Why are you picking out those 5 when that same criteria applies to the entire lineup?

Also, not that it matters, but Frehley and Vixen literally just released new albums last year...

Does anyone have the "unlock" password? Looks like the first 4 rows are available now but very few seats left. I'm curious what the cost is this year.

The Butch Walker/Marvelous 3 Facebook page had the image for this posted and many were excited.
Then someone said, "This is a festival each year in MD called M3. The line-up are like Southgang type bands, not the Marvelous 3" :D
I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

No, you haven't missed anything. It really is Roth's first and so far only show in five years, announced just a few weeks after his box of newly remastered albums.
