About a month ago I was reading an article in the Wall Street Journal about how Trump's immigration policies might play out economically.
They had a lot of facts and figures so I busted out a calculator to help me understand (yeah, I'm pretty geeky)
One of my takeaways was that roughly 1% or less of immigrants had criminal records according to the stats they provided, and many of these were for non violent stuff (like driving without a license, etc)
A quick internet search turns up this article > https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/und ... tizen-rate
"An NIJ-funded study examining data from the Texas Department of Public Safety estimated the rate at which undocumented immigrants are arrested for committing crimes. The study found that undocumented immigrants are arrested at less than half the rate of native-born U.S. citizens for violent and drug crimes and a quarter the rate of native-born citizens for property crimes"

... and silence on the fact that firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens in the U.S.
