Yeah, and I believe the majority here would agree with me on this.Darrien wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 2:55 amThey are good albums but a masterpiece? lol c'mon now.JamesHetfieldsAcneScars wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 3:43 pm Both too fast and shout are masterpieces from start to finish. Gradually? They were awful live as soon as the Theatre of Pain tour and never looked back.kytepunches wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:23 pm They got gradually worse as a live band over time too . Now they are Milli Vanilli .

From my personal experience. I saw the Shout tour and they were on fire. The Theatre tour was fun and they still seemed to be energized. G.G.G. Was the first one i was disappointed in. They seemed lethargic and mailed it in , plus were playing sloppy as hell. Dr.Feelgood was a bit of a bounce back, but i saw an early show in the tour. MC 94 they sounded good live…but it’s not the same thing. Then they fell right off a cliff.Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 5:51 pmGradually? Im not a big GnR fan, but I cant imagine it would fare well with a now listener if you played Appetite and then went over to TFFL.JamesHetfieldsAcneScars wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 5:23 pmYeah, and I believe the majority here would agree with me on this.Darrien wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 2:55 amThey are good albums but a masterpiece? lol c'mon now.JamesHetfieldsAcneScars wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 3:43 pm Both too fast and shout are masterpieces from start to finish. Would be the difference between Sticky Fingers and the NY Dolls debut. The latter has its charms, but... cmon.

2Fast is great. Not 10/10 though. Shout isn’t even that and it’s better than 2Fast.
I don’t give a crap about anything that came after that. I remember hating ToP when it came out and then they sucked unhappily forever after.

Pretty much this. It's nothing to be ashamed of, but it is far from a "classic" or even "great".CrankerBait wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 4:16 pm The album is fun and has plenty of energy and attitude, but most of the songs, at the end of the day, aren't so great; however, for a debut album from four dirtbags, not bad at all.

TFFL is easily my favorite Crue album. Followed closely by Shout. I can listen to both front-to-back and not skip anything. I was a young teenager when they came out, and I listened to them constantly, so I have some nostalgic connection to them as well.
Literally everything that followed those 2 could be summed up on one "greatest hits" album for me and I'd be fine with it.

“Come on and Dance” chorus is pretty cringy

Yes but your mind anticipates going back to the awesome verse, then straight to Public Enemy...it just works!

https://www.billboard.com/music/rock/st ... 235032125/Pearl Jam‘s Stone Gossard appeared on Revolver‘s Fan First podcast on Monday and defended Mötley Crüe amid Eddie Vedder‘s ongoing feud with the band.
While the frontman dissed Vince Neil and co. — not to mention the entire ’80s glam rock scene — as “vacuous” in a recent interview with The New York Times Sunday magazine, it turns out Gossard is actually a fan.
“For sure Jeff [Ament] and Mike [McCready] and I loved hard rock, you know, like, went through it all,” the guitarist said. “You know, I bought the first Mötley Crüe Leathür records. I thought … at the time it was punk-like, you know? … It was like Motörhead, and there was things about it that I was discovering about British hard rock at that time that felt also, like, rebellious or against the norm or something that made me interested in it.”
