NIVARNA REUNION
Weird that it's basically just the same thing as the RNRHOF induction but if you got a kick out of that, maybe you'll enjoy St. Vincent's in-ear monitors going haywire and leaving her half a beat behind during "Breed."

Boy am I not all that thrilled about these Nivarna reonions.

Re: NIVARNA REUNION
That was kinda a surprise. When the whole Dave having a kid with another woman thing hit, last I saw, no foo fighter shows in 2025 and the few that were, were canceled.
Maybe he had a change of heart, and the foo fighters will tour or do some shows in 2025?

I'm finding it difficult to masturbate to this. I'm trying, I just have so little to work with...

Re: NIVARNA REUNION
The Nirvana reunion I want is with Chad Channing and Jason Everman. Not sure who would play what as both Channing and Grohl are drummers turned singer - guitarists.

St. Vincent was a good choice. She's pretty bad ass from what I've seen.

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"
Re: NIVARNA REUNION
That was terrible.
Re: NIVARNA REUNION
Wayne Newton tore it up. He needs to bring that band to Vegas.

Re: NIVARNA REUNION
Wow that was pretty bad. Nirvana was greater than the sum of its parts. It’s the classic 3 or it doesn’t work. Disrespect to perform under the Nirvana name with such a shitty performance imo.

Did they use the name or just play? I never saw any billing whatsoever for this set.superglide88 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 11:29 am Wow that was pretty bad. Clever move by Grohl.

Some of you are way too deep into the rage bait and I am angry just because territory. I thought this was pretty cool.

Hearing the music again is awesome. Kim Gordon is the best of these singers, as she still has the punk aesthetic and her voice is rough, raging, and similar.

St Valium pulls her in ears out part way through and is still waaaaaay off time.
It ain’t the monitors, her synapses are a beat behind.

Re: NIVARNA REUNION
I dunno man, I just did a gig on ears where every time I moved, one would fall out and fuck me up. It is VERY easy to get disoriented, especially for a throw-and-go thing like that where there was no time to fuck with levels and shit.
Watching that was painful...it wasn't just her, almost every one of those singers were fucking with their receiver packs, which is such a bad look for a performer.
I hate those goddam things, but it is just sort of what you get now.

Re: NIVARNA REUNION
Yeah, they ruined a show for me, where the mix was too low and I blew out my voice compensating. I will always leave one out and rely on the live mix in one ear, even if it's a dickhead venue with no monitors.Sleek wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 3:05 pm I dunno man, I just did a gig on ears where every time I moved, one would fall out and fuck me up. Re: NIVARNA REUNION
I was actually looking for a one-earpiece set, because I hate how if you only use one then you still have the other one just hanging there...and came across a lot of articles about why you should never use just one.
I meannnn, I am still going to, but apparently you tend to overcompensate and just turn it up until you nuke your ear.
Did not find the single earpiece I was hoping for.

Re: NIVARNA REUNION
I’m pretty sure BOTH are out after the “solo” where she’s had several bars to recalibrate, so I don’t see how you can pin it on them after the bridge.Sleek wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 3:05 pm I dunno man, I just did a gig on ears where every time I moved, one would fall out and fuck me up. Not sure I have it in me to rewatch and confirm.

I remember seeing Weiland do a very similar “your own personal metronome” act in his later years.
The point is, shitty monitors or not, by the end of the solo, if both IEMs are out, she’s hearing the same foldback as everyone else and still in her own temporal universe.
Not claiming she’s perma fucked up, but given the thrown together nature of this it’s entirely plausible that someone chased a few mils of Xanax on a red eye flight with a little too much vino. More plausible than merely a shitty IEM mix causing this.
