Do you think it's really a "stood the test of time" song? Or a song that conjures up Rocky training his A$$ off and by association it gets the adrenaline pumping followed by a chorus sing-a-long? So Great Song or Nostalgia hit thanks to Rocky III?

A and B. It's a great song by itself. It fits perfectly in the movie. It's the whole theme of the movie, really. Rocky loses his edge. He's gotta get it back...the eye of the tiger!

"EotT" is definitely the blueprint for the 80's "You can do it" movie theme song. And the first riff I ever learned to (sort of) play.

It's super dated but I guess it's stood the test of time. If there's a training montage in just about anything, they play that song.

Didn't think I'd be praising Survivor today but these are strange times.

I’ve been in a huge Survivor rabbit whole lately. My 7 year old self hearing EoT I would have told you it was the greatest song ever created. Maybe it was just the perfect song for the right movie. Listening to the song now, without the movie connotation, it’s a strong Survivor song but not the best of their entire catalog. Bummer for Dave Bickler’s bank account as he did not write it.
