Harlow - “Chain Reaction”

Post by dmbrocker »

Post-Black N’ Blue/Pre-Kiss Tommy Thayer with a female singer (Teresa Straley), Pat Regan on keys, and a pre-Hardline Todd Jensen on bass. This sounds like the sort of “lost” hair tune that Mattley would ask why it wasn’t bigger. The video got aired a couple of times on HBB, and it’s decent enough for cheesy hair metal. Anyone here remember this one?

I don't remember it. But in it's defense, it's utterly forgettable.

Discovered this band recently going down a YouTube rabbit hole. Sounds like it was a very short lived group. If they had just enough record company support and budget to release one video from the album they did I think they would have had better luck with one of the more mellow ballads on there. The singer Teresa Straley can wail pretty good, but over does it a bit in spots.

Yeah, it's on my iPod. I heard it on Z-Rock a few times.

great album, bought it when it came out back in the day.

"Chain Reaction" wasn't a bad song by any means, but the winner, to me, was the ballad "When You Love Someone."

the track "Empty" was pretty good, too.

Straley had been in the music business for a while, and released an album back in 1982.

last I heard, she worked for some law firm. looks like she lost her license or something to that effect back in 2011. "Professional misconduct."

check out this interview she did back in 2019 for the Focus On Metal podcast.

Never heard of them, and was fully expecting to hate it....but I really liked it.

No better or worse than a lot of stuff being put out at that time.
