What's better for you as an audience? A packed small place, or a big place almost empty?

Obviously the small packed place would have much more energy, and you're closer to the band. It's not close.

What time is the show over? Do I have to stand up? I hAvE a BaD bAcK! How is the sound? Is it the original lineup? Are there any deep cuts in the set list that only I care about?

Rammstein singer with 90% empty Kia Forum was spectacular!
Got big arena sound- big arena production- bigtime fun

Same show at 1/2 full Wiltern would have been huge let down
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Packed small place. Bands don't play their best in empty rooms.

Packed small place or even moderately full small place. I outgrew stadium shows at about age 20. They tend to be boring even if you like the band. Better is when you can see the whites of their eyes.

Packed small place. I'm not a fan of bumping into people and/or standing shoulder to shoulder packed in like sardines anymore, BUT, for a rock show I can handle it. I want a packed, standing, energetic crowd. It always feels a little weird at theatre shows when the majority of the crowd sits, it's not the same energy.
*I kinda want a new screenname. Seriously. I barely watch racing anymore. :x
