I will admit that I never listened to whatever solo stuff he did.
Or, any Warrant album after the first one.
You know why? Because I heard Cherry Pie and Down Boys. Why would I listen to anything else from this band? Those songs were terrible. The videos were terrible. They sucked!!!!
They opened for Queensryche on the Mindcrime tour in San Diego, 1990-ish?(who put this tour together???) They got booed off the stage. Not by me, I would never boo anyone. But the rest of the place felt differently.
Yeah, that post is nonsense

At least?? Bullshit. 25 songs is two greatest hits albums' worth. Even their one "best of" has filler on it.
And yes, Firehouse was a better live band. Leverty could play circles around those hacks and Snare had a better voice.

And I’m not just talking about sex appeal.
Girls liked “Heaven.”
And their shows weren’t the hair metal version of a Rush show

Even at the height of their popularity I never thought he or his band were reigning champs. They were fun and a good time. But they were never a Skid Row or Cinderella let alone a Bon Jovi or Whitesnake.tym wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 3:34 am I always thought Jani was one of the best song writers of the metal or pop era of that time. It sucks his demons and the Record company fucking him over got the best of him.
I always thought record companies got there's in the end. Now bands and artists really dont need them, tick tock and youtube will give them the exposure they need. They can record there music on a laptop.

Maybe the Poison guys lowered the bar too far? I was surprised at how many people liked them, how many girls especially were fans. When I first saw them in the rock magazines I never thought they’d blow up like they did.
Queensryche weren’t exactly Iron Maiden, Scorpions or Metallica. As douche’ as Bruce can be, Tate took it to a whole new level. That band crashed and burned shortly after Empire and haven’t been the same since.
Jani took himself too seriously and capitulated to the changing trends. Blaming his record company for Cherry Pie was dumb.
