Denny Carmassi is even more of a stretch but - a member of Heart and Coverdale Page (where both namesakes are in with their respective bands), and with Sammy Hagar who is in as a member of Van Halen.

I don't think ANY Rainbow album is platinum or gold, not even the JLT ones. They had to be the worst selling hard rock band to regularly play arenas in North America back in the day. Thin Lizzy was another candidate but they did make it to gold once. And Motörhead were far from regulars in arenas.

Edit: UFO never went gold or platinum either. WTF, I expected at least Strangers and/or Lights Out to be certified after all those years. OK, they were on Chrysalis who couldn't sell a hard rock band until they got lucky with Slaughter for one album in 1990.
