Scab Godsmack

Post by Vince Neil Eats »

Say what you will about Godsmack, but they have had a stable lineup since the addition of Shannon Larkin in 2002. I was quite surprised to see that they are currently on tour in Europe without Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola. Filling in are Will Hunt of Evenescence and Sam “Bam” Koltun of Faster Pussycat and Dorothy. Frontman Sully Erna even hinted that the changes may be permanent.

As long as shorty is there its Godsmack. No one knows anyone else in that band other than the drummer but hes not make or break. New line up sounded fine in that video.

Sully recently said something to the effect of "We're not doing any new music, now is the time to celebrate our complete catalogue". They have been a band for 30 years, yet have only 8 records, which doesn't seem like a lot. Especially to make a statement like that. Maybe there was a shift business wise for the band? Sully & the bass player started the band, so maybe Shannon Larkin & Tony Rombola don't even own a piece of it so he axed them!

Agreed it’s Sully’s band and he’ll do fine with any lineup but it was kind of hard to read the responses he gave in this interview without laughing. It has the vibe of “I’m probably getting sued by someone at some point here so I need to be careful what I say.”

I know next to nothing about this band, except, I met Sully once outside the Viper Room and I was shocked at how little he was.

He had the build of a middle school kid... Google says he's 5'6" and I'd like to believe that's a stretch!

Another search pulls up that he's 5'5"... and another says he's 5'4"...

Sully MTV cribs episode was good
I think deep end of his pool was 4 feet

Good band for that era- always got huge reaction at Ozzfest
Godsmack always brought the young audience to Ozzfest then they got bored during Ozzy-Sabbath stuff

Crue / Godsmack tour was great how bands hated each other on tour
Godsmack still fun band on show like Aftershock- still entertaining Sully always does well

It is now Godsmack turn to be full of scab members..and that eras . Lots of “Sam Bams” going be in all those era bands now
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

I completely agree. He’s the face and the main songwriter. People will adjust rather quickly. I’m sure it’s a money issue.

So, who's taller, Scott Ian or Sully? Scott is "supposedly" 5'4".

They’re a horseshit “Nu-Metal” Alice In Chains rip-off band. Their only redeeming quality was Larkin’s stellar talent, and without that….ppphhhhhhh.

A little tidbit: I used to be friends with an industry dude who told me that Larkin was being paid a salary of 400k/year when he joined. Maybe Mr Short Pants can’t afford that anymore.

Gotta admit, Taime Downe found one of the best versatile guitar players out there, Sam Bam is literally the modern day
Nuno Bettencourt…..who ironically played on Criss Angels tv show theme song written by Sully

That is $8k a week... I'd say that seems a bit unrealistic... especially as a year round pay-check, when the band is not touring, writing or recording.

While that band has def sold some records, I don't see that being a possibility...

Always felt Shannon was the true highlight In Godsmack, just a legendary metal drummer said and done. For Sully not to make an official statement Shannon and Tony are out of the band USA bit suspect. But hence, the random date in Bulgaria being the “test market” for a new lineup tells everyone what we need to know. The former and latter may have been out of the band for a full year leading up to the replacements.

I like the original drummer better.
Forgot his name (Tony?) but was in Lillian. Axe. Then shaved his head and joined goddmack.

Fun fact he was in Detroit area band.

When he was in Lillian axe. My friends made a sign for them as it was our first club show at 18. Gave it to drummer and he gave it back! Lol
I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

Let's talk about the fact that the guitar player is from Faster Pussycat - That's rad.

$400k may not be a stretch - Maybe he signed away publishing/merch/royalties......

You never know on these deals!

The headline says Robbie Merrill is missing then the first paragraph says he isn’t. It’s crazy how shitty most websites are these days. It’s like the mid-90s web was the height of professional journalism.
