Buckstock 99 - the best of Buckcherry at Woodstock '99

Post by ijwthstd »

Last night my friend texted me from somewhere with the news "Guy From Buckcherry is here." I replied "Guy From Buckcherry should be the name on his driver's license."

Weren't they being touted on this board and others as the future of rock? Is the future here yet?

Which brings me to this gem, the best of Buckcherry at Woodstock '99 amounting to about 2:11 of the set.

Enjoy!

This is my fave Buckcherry vid ever, really distills the quality of the band and the charisma of the singer.

2 Suckcherry questions...

1. Didnt they release an album with a lead single that was so bad, that they redid the album without it, and at first the album was named after the lead single? What was the name of that song?

2. What was the name of that silly side project they did that everyone goofed on??

How much would you pay for a vintage Buckcherry shirt? You could use it to wipe dirt off of used cars!

Say what you will about them, but their first four albums really have their moments.

After that, it really started getting more & more tired, & once Jimmy Ashhurst left, it was pretty much over. Keith Nelson & Xavier Muriel hung on for awhile after that, & jumped ship once the band became a complete parody of itself.

Keith's songwriting is the only reason that band had a career...since he left, I don't know if they've released a single memorable song. Josh is atrocious and that Stevie D guy is as generic as it gets as both a player and a writer.

Xavier was a fucking beast on the drums

Yup.

Jimmy helped out with songwriting during his tenure in the band, too.

Xavier really was good, wasn’t he? Their live show was still worth seeing after the quality of their albums dropped, largely because of him.
