Kenney Jones confirms new Faces album with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood
This should be interesting. Hopefully Rod's still got it vocally...

The Faces drummer Kenney Jones has confirmed that he and his bandmates, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, have recorded 11 songs for a new album.
The iconic trio has been busy working on a new album for many years, but they have yet to release any material. Wood first discussed plans to reunite for another record in 2021, but their respective busy schedules have meant time has been limited to spend on the new album. Their last LP, Ooh La La, arrived in 1973.
In 2023, Stewart admitted the band had been struggling to record material, telling Vulture: “We’re still struggling to make this album. We’ll see. Some of them might see the light of day.”
Last November, while on the Soccer A-Z podcast, Stewart was more optimistic about the future of the Faces and revealed he was due to meet with Jones and Wood the following day because they were “working on a documentary” to celebrate a landmark anniversary. He also said, “We’re trying to put out an album. “
Now, in a new conversation with The Telegraph, Jones confirmed they have recorded “about 11 tracks” at RAK Studios in London, including one with Jools Holland. The drummer stated: “Not all of them are going to be right [for the album]. But most of them are good.”
When asked for a timeline on a potential release, Jones added: “I can’t see it coming out this year. But I can see it coming out next year. Everyone’s doing different things. We do little snippets [of recording] here and there. Then all of a sudden, The Stones are out [on tour] again, Rod’s out again…”
While The Rolling Stones aren’t set to tour in 2025, which frees Wood’s schedule, Stewart is set to have a busy summer on his hands as he will perform at Glastonbury Festival for the legend’s slot. It marks Stewart’s first appearance at Worthy Farm since he headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2002.

Without Ronnie Lane, and Ian McLagan, it seems like a waste of time, to me.

I love Rod Stewart, but he should have committed to this album and the Faces reunion in 2008/2009, but instead he concentrated on the complete garbage/geriatric "Great American Songbook" albums.

Those ones that sold millions of albums and were the biggest selling albums he had had for two decades? Those ones?Wild Obsession wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 6:52 am I love Rod Stewart, but he should have committed to this album and the Faces reunion in 2008/2009, but instead he concentrated on the complete garbage/geriatric "Great American Songbook" albums.

Top 3 contenders for the album title:
Old, Wrinkled, and Stone.

Might have sold well, but still absolute throwaway drivel.Nibbler wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 7:11 amThose ones that sold millions of albums and were the biggest selling albums he had had for two decades? Yeah, as Greil Marcus famously stated, "Rarely has a singer had as full and unique a talent as Rod Stewart; rarely has anyone betrayed their talent so completely".
Re: Kenney Jones confirms new Faces album with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood
I would argue that Rod had the greatest run of records of anyone from '68-'75 (and then some amazing singles for the next few years), so I'll cut him some slack for wanting to take a decade to do dumb shit and blow
