I also loved Counting Crows first album when it came out. I went to see them live and learned the hard way what a “jam” band was. I’m not kidding when I say I literally didn’t know what the fuck any song was until the vocals came in and then he sang 100% different melodies from the album and everything SUCKED. I left halfway through the show and never looked back. That ridiculous version of “Round Here” from some festival many years ago is a great example of how a band totally ruins their own songs live by destroying every single thing you liked about them in the first place.
You're right. If only they'd use tapes like Kiss.

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

There was only ever ONE good Counting Crows song. (of course, the one they didn't put on an album)

Agreed. Also - I’m a Big Star Now or whatever it was called from the Rounders soundtrack. Also not on an album

So's being a KISS fan into your 70s.

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

So far more people like Toad The Wet Sprocket than most 80s bands.

Bret needs to get them on the next Parti Gras tour since he doesn't care about Poison!

A metal board loves a bunch of Canadian mopers... I've given up trying to figure this place out.

Toad the Wet Sprocket is a California band. (Santa Barbara). And their best songs tend to be pretty up-tempo, not really "mopey" at all.
