Hinder
Anyone like this band back in the 00s?
Loved the first album. Everything after got progressively shite-er , like to an alarming degree.
Didn’t they split with the singer with the voice and the hands?
What to we reckon scab Hinder pulls for a guarantee in 2025?

Re: Hinder
I worked one of their shows a few years ago in Evansville, It was hot AF in the place. The bass player's rig kept going in and out due to the heat. I did all I could do to keep it alive for him. I remember the new singer wouldn't get off the bus for sound check. The band did it without him. Later that night at show time, he was walked out in a bath of flashlights like he was Elvis. After the show I loaded them out and that was that. Another show in the books.

I liked them to a degree. If you liked Creed and Nickelback(which I did) then they would be right up your alley.
Loaded and alone and All American Nightmare are great tunes. If I never hear Lips of an Angel again, it will be too soon

Oklahoma boys. They were positioned nicely to be another Nickleback - I don't know what happened, but their run was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. I saw them a few times when they were starting to blow up in OKC and every song sounded like a single.
However, I just Googled their debut album - the label had a pro songwriter cowrite everything. I always thought they wrote those songs themselves!

Saw them on a "Rocktoberfest" festival gig in 2012, horrible.

I just saw them on the Creed Cruise. I didn't know their catalog outside of their couple of hits. I actually liked them. Came back and checked out the catalog. Weird how the "new" singer sounds nothing like the original singer, but it still somehow worked. His stage schtick, however, is terrible. Like he went to Frontman School. No real personality.

Joke band who's only redeeming quality was the original singer. So utterly genericand forgettable that they make 3 Doors Down look like KISS in comparison.

Re: Hinder
A relatively big hard rock band by 2009. Hits, videos etc. Seemed like another band with internal discord and lead singer Austin Winklet leaving absolutely killed the band to the hot dog circuit. Now, l believe the replacement singer has been replaced again.

I hated the singers voice.

I like the song "Use Me" - it has a bit of an 80s vibe. The rest is crap.

Couple catchy tunes, nothing too special or memorable for any good reason, anyway. They were big on the jukebox at every bar around here for awhile.

Re: Hinder
really like the first albums. their producer, brian howes had his writing style all over them.
the singer was the only thing that separated them from the pack. word on the street was he had a major pill problem.

He and some chick were trying to hook up in the dark right by the trailer. He was in the way and had to move..lol

Re: Hinder
Overall, it was fun. I've been on Monsters of Rock & KISS Kruises, and this was the tamest. I figured it would be full of 30-40-year-old meatheads, and while they were there, it seemed like the majority of the cruisers were in their 50s-60s. And lots of fat people and lots of people with canes. Speaking of, Scott Stapp had two knee braces on because he had double knee surgery, I guess. So he was not very mobile. Creed played twice. Once at the sailaway, and then a couple of nights later. Both full 90-minute sets. They sounded good, I don't know their catalog super well, though. But Scott was doing a lot of preachy stage raps and saying shit like, "in these divided times, this song blah blah blah," like dude, I don't need to be reminded that more than half the people on this boat are lunatics, I'm here to forget the "division" for a few days. Mark Tremonti was checking out all the bands the whole cruise, and I thought that was cool of him.REO Cokewagon wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 9:46 pmWait, u went to the Creed cruise and didn't say shit?? I liked just about all the bands I saw, whether I was familiar with their songs or not. Lit was great, Hoobastank was great and a lot of fun with their show, Fuel was fine, Hinder, like I said, were good, Alien Ant Farm put on a solid show, and I got to talk to Dryden about how my band used to play the Coconut Teaszer with them haha. The biggest surprise for me was The Verve Pipe. I only knew the Freshman song, but I really enjoyed their whole set and would liked to have seen them again, but I think I went to see Default instead (also good).
It was just 4 days, and that was just the right amount of time for it. They announced another cruise next year on a bigger ship.

Re: Hinder
Excellent review. But why did u goto this cruise if u didn't know Creed's catalong or much of the other bands either?? Who did u go there to see? Or did some hot chick drag u into this??
Re: Hinder
Fellow southern boys. The problem with that band, and unbenownst to most, has always been that the drummer and singer have been the main writers, with the extra cowriter behind the scenes. Around 2009, they got a new cowriter which was the douche that would eventually become the current singer. When Austin left, they basically lost most of the songwriting talent and hence fell off the map. When your drummer is one of the main "writers" you've got problems.FreddyFender wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 1:14 pm Oklahoma boys. Thomas Ian Nichols of "Rookie of the Year" and "American Pie" fame was also there with his band. From what I heard, the dude likes to drink!

There are exceptions to every rule. Show me what output of his since the OG singer left that doesn't suck. Show me where he started or fronted his own band.Kid-Wicked wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 7:05 pmwhy is that? ever heard of don henley? phil collins? roger taylor? dave grohl? stix zadinya?

how aboot you name all the drummers that are one of the main writers where the band has problems. your comment makes no sense. the drummer in hinder is still there writing but the songs on the first two albums were produced and co-written by brian howes. fellow moosefuckers will remember him from young gun and ddt. the songs since are ok but they don't have the singer that helped make them successful.
