Pretty sure the VH-only set was symbolic - Ed is gone. Van Halen is gone. No one else is out there playing these songs the classic VH tunes.

I didn’t think it was terrible. That band was good. The guys that look like princes backing dancers/singers from the early 90s were a little oddly placed, but they actually made the background vocals sound better.

What I really think Dave could profit from - besides a for real vocal coach to help him at this age - would be to get Pete Angelus back and involved in managing every other aspect…whether it’s the stage design, the production value…Dave style, which he sadly needs a stylist. A “minder” that could help with things like that. It could help keep something from going viral in a negative way that could go a *long* way to helping him ease out the door on a good note.

Put him in a Panama jack hat, a pair of shades, leather jacket, blue jeans anything to keep the attention from his face start there because that’s cheap. Band sounds great work on the vocals and put some magic (computer magic) in the sound.

LOL HARD at anyone saying this was 'good'.

He's been a clown from the band's inception.
With the acception of the first two albums where his vocals were barely passable,
He sucks as a singer and has since then.
I also despise his goofy schtick with a passion.
I saw him in 91. Half the crowd left after 5 songs. He 'talked' the lyrics and was embarrassing.
If not for Eddie and Alex desperately in need of that PA system, and Roth copying Jim Dandy, Roth would have been nothing.
He sucks period. His only redeeming quality is his train wreck persona and the nonsense gibberish that comes out of his mouth that intrigues people.
I can't figure out if he's acting and that desperate, or he really is a Liberace and annoying goofball/weirdo.
I wish he'd go away permanently already.

Do you think Dave did this on purpose?

I mean... how could he have not noticed that his cock-tail wiener was showing through those thin pants?

Not sure how most people here can give this a pass, or even say it sounds good and then shit on other singers that have minor issues.
He sucks.

You wouldn't know who Jim Dandy was if you didn't read in a magazine (or, more likely, on Metal Sludge) that Roth stole everything from him.

Also, what bizarre logic. If David Lee Roth was born in Afghanistan, he wouldn't have been a rock star. If he was a Thalidomide baby, he wouldn't have been a rock star. Where does this line of thinking end?

The place he's playing in NH has a capacity of 1800 seated/2200 GA. Tesla has already sold out 2 GA shows there for July & the DLR show is seated & it's his only show in New England. Can Dave do shows back to back nights at this point?

Based on the M3 clips, DLR sounds like Pavarotti compared to Axl, or the last decade of Paul Stanley.

Next year will be the 40th anniversary of "Eat Em And Smile." If there was ever a time for him to get back with that band and do some shows, it would be next year. Maybe this run of casinos is to see how he feels and next summer put a package together and do sheds, like what Sammy did last year. I doubt that will happen though since the Van Halen/DLR camp never seems to celebrate any anniversary of their past stuff.

Yeah, weird. Yankee Rose and Just a Gigalo or Calif Girls were more well known than some of the VH stuff. You;d think he'd be prouder of some of it.

No interest. Closest we got to that was that Lucky Strike gig in 2015 that got shut down.

Actually, that Hard Rock Casino isn't bad, and you don't have to worry about getting shot going in there.

It depends on the band. The last show I saw there was "Beat" & it worked as a seated situation but yea, DLR should be GA if for nothing other than to sell 400 more tickets. I just don't get why he is playing there as I'm sure it will sell out quick. If he's going to take the time & effort to fire all this up for only one New England show, why wouldn't he play a bigger place?
