Re: Poison 2026 tour
Maybe they'll try again with Extreme in 2026, which they had to dump off their summer tour 7-8 years ago due to low ticket sales (and Poison's over-touring, frankly).
Poison
Tesla
Extreme
LA Guns
That would be a great lineup of highly competent bands still performing well. Swap out Twisted for Tesla, or Tesla for Extreme, or Extreme for LAG on various dates.

Re: Poison 2026 tour
That wouldn't work with LA Guns for three reasons. One, it's summer, and it's hot, so Traci can't handle that. And two, the sun would still be up while they're playing, and the sun will melt Traci. And third, that bill doesn't need LA Guns. They're not gonna bring in anymore people that the other 3 won't already pull.Tyketto Meniketti wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 9:21 am Maybe they'll try again with Extreme in 2026, which they had to dump off their summer tour 7-8 years ago due to low ticket sales (and Poison's over-touring, frankly).

Sounds like a perfect Party Gras setlist.

Re: Poison 2026 tour
I looked up Extreme opening for Poison as I really didn't remember this. So was it a one off Extreme and Jackyl opening for Poison (it said 30th anniversary though was 2017) or a tour that got plug pulled. Poison toured for a few months supporting Def Leppard with Tesla opening in the Spring. I don't like Extreme that much, but they'd be a fresh face to open for Poison and Tesla is as well for the most part and it sounds like Tesla is in from what Frank Hannon said about 40th anniversary with another band tour. Poison/Tesla/Extreme would do really well if they do it.

Well this blind item says Bret's getting greedy. Do you buy it?

This seminal 80s hair rock band could have the biggest year in their career 2026 but it may not happen because the lead singer wants almost 50% of the gross revenue. Its a thorny situation. “Poison”/Bret Michaels (Poison In Talks For 2026 40th Anniversary Tour)

Bert is a total cocksucker. It's got to be beyond frustrating for the other guys to have their career sidelined by Bert's incessant man-whoring.

Yeah reading this thread has made my head hurt.LitaStrauss wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:26 pmI don't see Tuff doing a 40 minute set before Poison in arenas and amphitheaters across the United States during the summer months because they'll be co-headlining stadiums with Guns N Roses.greengoblinrulz wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 12:20 pm So.....a Tom Kiefer, Stephen Pearcy or Tesla type opener agree's & they kind of co headline at 70 minutes each
Does Poison go with a LAG/Lita Ford type 40 minute opener
OR
Could they get away (with 2 solid headliners) with going out with a new band ala Tuk Smith, The Bites, Bad Marriage or someone of this type
Question for Stevie.....with 3/4 of Tuff back, would you guys consider a 3rd act 40 minute run or is this type of touring out of the question for you now?![]()
Holy shit does this thread have some stupid takes.

I remember when The Stones announced their 40th anniversary tour and thinking they were an anomaly and other mainstream bands would never follow suit and keep it going that long, but here we are. I don't think twice now about seeing bands that I first saw 30+ years ago, soon to be 40.MisterSinister wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 1:32 pmOh my god we’re old

Re: Poison 2026 tour
They can't blow it in 2026 or so many fans like on this thread will be done with them or they may be done as a band. I think in the end (next few months) Bret will see it will make enough money to be close enough to his solo fee to do the Poison tour already. It's crazy when I opened for him in 2003 when he first went solo how much he made versus today.

Re: Poison 2026 tour
If you mean because more of their fans will drop dead then you might be onto something. And they are not what anyone would consider a real band. They get together every few years and play the same 12 songs. They don't actually make music.thunderdan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 4:06 am They can't blow it in 2026 or so many fans like on this thread will be done with them or they may be done as a band. Re: Poison 2026 tour
This is the part that everyone is missing - Bert spent the past 25 years building his brand up with the solo tours, the TV show, etc. This whole second act of his career wasn't just handed to him.thunderdan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 4:06 am It's crazy when I opened for him in 2003 when he first went solo how much he made versus today.
The other three guys could have actually put their backs into building up Special Guests or some other group doing Poison music. They could have had something to do, kept the fans happy with longer sets/deep cuts, made records, and eventually built it into something that makes a little money. Instead, I get the feeling the second they realized it wasn't steak and lobster every night, they pulled the plug.
Michaels gets called lazy, but he's always doing something. The other three have sat on the couch for the better part of decade.

Re: Poison 2026 tour
As I recall, Extreme was on the second half of the tour (yes, with Jackyl) for maybe 6+ dates that summer -- probably all the shows marked as "Poison only" here >> https://poisonfanclub.net/tour/2017/thunderdan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 4:47 am I looked up Extreme opening for Poison as I really didn't remember this. As the tour was heading to Southeast markets, reports came out that Extreme wasn't going to be able to play, for some vague reasoning that made it sound like illness or something. The cancellation started at the Raleigh show, which was pretty lightly attended. Maybe 4k at a big outdoor amphitheater. So, I suspect it was low ticket sales.
I appreciate Rikki R and don't like to slag on positive guys like him. However, I remember Poison wasn't good that night, they sounded hollow, disconnected, and Bert phoned in the usual setlist. Extreme could've helped save that show experience, but apparently wasn't a big enough draw to help.

Re: Poison 2026 tour
Bumping this with a fresh quote from Rikki from his appearance w/ Eddie Trunk:
"“We are planning, you know, we got a great offer. And to be honest with you, it’s in Bret’s [Michaels, lead singer] lap right now, honestly. So, we’re good to go and hopefully we can make a deal and do it. I think it would be a shame not to do it because this is our 40th anniversary, you know, all original members. I mean, we’re not getting any younger. I say we can tear it up. We still got it. Let’s do it. That’s how I feel about it.”
In other words, if it doesn't happen, it's on Bert.

Never thought or Said Michaels was lazy, well except for his set list and a his short sets, but he is greedy and everything is always about him. Totally agree that the rest of the band should have put in the work as the "Special guests" or as "the other guys" and kept going.FreddyFender wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 2:10 pmThis is the part that everyone is missing - Bert spent the past 25 years building his brand up with the solo tours, the TV show, etc. This whole second act of his career wasn't just handed to him.thunderdan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 4:06 am It's crazy when I opened for him in 2003 when he first went solo how much he made versus today.

Do one more tour and call it a day, pull out some deep cuts, not just the usual set. Bring along a few kickass openers! Could end up being the tour of the year

Bert can't possibly blow this, can he? Everything's lining up for a big 2026 tour. Surely, his ego won't get in the way, will it?
Re: Poison 2026 tour
The drum solo serves a purpose of giving a break to the other guys.ijwthstd wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 11:30 amI don't get this at all.AlexVonHaig wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 10:58 am other than sheer laziness what could be the reason for not headlining and doing 12-15 songs. Its not like there is a lot of energy needed to play a few more tunes. Most bands are just going thru the motions at this stage of their career. Bert should do some pointing finger exercises.
A lot of bands play 90% of the same songs because they have to. But to play 100% the exact same set (other than the songs that get dropped along the way) in the exact same order for decades in a row is otherwise unheard of.
The energy won't dip at all for one or two lower tier but still hit singles, at least not any more than it would during a drum solo.

100% this. By all accounts they killed it on the Stadium tour. They look great, perhaps as good as any of the bands of the era. and they sound great.
They need to play the same 10-12 songs they have always done, but break out 2 or 3 deeper cuts for the die hards. Even songs like I won't forget You, Cry Tough, So Tell Me Why, Stand, Flesh and Blood would be fine with me. Bring out a few good openers...Ratt, Skids, Keifer, LA Guns etc. Tour would kill
