A few of the examples in that clip - Roger Waters leaving Pink Floyd and declaring it dead and Billy Squier's weird video, for example - I was thinking of before I started watching. (Waters, the egomaniac that he is, deserved what he got at the time, though I think Billy got a raw deal.) Not sure I agree with Quiet Riot and Dubrow shooting his mouth off sinking them. They weren't that great to begin with - the songs, the vocals and the musicianship weren't very good - and they showed with Condition Critical they were never going to come close to following up the debut. (Metal Health hasn't exactly aged that well either.)

No you arent.

The "KISS removing the makeup" one was idiotic. By his own admission, they were floundering prior, and they did better after. Not sure how he even included them after writing it up.

The guy who banged on trash cans in Slipknot suing them because he didn't feel like he was getting enough of the profits is definitely the dumbest move in the history of music.

Janet Gardiner quitting Vixen. Why not just go solo on the side?

Billy Squire

Twisted Sister - Leader of the Pack as the first single

Do label decisions count?
Epic completely made a mistake with Danger Danger by not releasing ‘Don’t Walk Away’ as a single from their debut.

They could’ve been something.

also.... Wings.

The public didn't ask for or want Paul McCartney to form some corny ass new band with his wife. Would have probably sold double the records as a solo artist.

His first solo album whilst good, didn't do blockbuster numbers.

He could have hired Bob Rock for his second solo album and it would have done nothing.

This is an example of no matter whom Vince would hired, it wouldn't have made a difference in his career.

David Lee Roth producing "Skyscrapper" on his own and wanting to experiment with sounds.

Jani Lane going back to Warrant after he left the band in 93 after the Dog Eat Dog tour. He should have tried to reinvent himself as a singer/songwriter in the mid-90s. Go the opposite direction from Warrant. There was plenty of time to reunite with Warrant down the line.

CC leaving Poison / Poison without CC

Pretty much every decision Donnie & Chip made regarding Enuff Z'Nuff.

No, the bad decision was not reuniting then and there. They left millions on the table.

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

Agree. And his appearance there let people know about the two songs. From what I've seen, almost all Van Halen fans who heard them liked them. It provided hope that he might be able to work with them and I think helped that feeling once the 2007 reunion happened.

I liked the sound of that album. But nothing was going to change the success/failure of that record at that point in time.

Yeah, the bad decision was Roth acting like a fucking dickhead that night and blowing whatever chance there was at a reunion while Van Halen was still relevant.

And yes, I know they’d already hired at least one other singer besides Roth at that point, but Roth didn’t do himself any favors.

He didn't "blow" anything. He was set up. The bros. blew it by not reading the room. It was like if KISS didn't reunite after Unplugged.
