The radio's volume is fine, Mr. Plunkett. Just turn up your hearing-aid and eat your applesauce.

💯 steaming hot dog manure as Plunkett must be deaf or have dementia. 60% of Autograph are pushing up daisies so leave the Classics alone.

New version has no teeth. Just like the audience for it.

At least Plunk can still hit those high notes. Otherwise, it sounds quite bland compared to the original. It’s not the same without the classic Autograph lineup, anyway.

Those geezers (what's left of'em) are as old as Aerosmith - they were over 30 when they had their 15 minutes in 84-85. Did anyone buy the follow-up records? Did they get any gigs after '85?

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

I bought Loud and Clear. One of the few that did.

Excellent record IMO. The label did spend money on a couple of videos with cameos of Vince Neal and Ozzy.

Loud and Clear
Dance All Night
More Than A Million Times
Everytime I Dream
She Never Looked That Good For Me

All good tunes but nobody bought into them.

For a couple of summers in the late 80s, they used to have weekly free concerts in downtown Dallas at the same place Van Halen did their free show in 91. Autograph played there in 87 and it was a pretty sparse crowd, maybe a couple of hundred at the most. At one point, Steve Lynch threw a guitar pick into the crowd and it landed on the ground and nobody went to grab it. After the show, it was still there, so I went over and picked it up. They sounded good, but were pretty cheesy - the drummer kept hitting his head in time with the bass drum and at one point during his solo, he pulled a low rent version of Bobby Blotzer's solo and had a beer delivered to him, but you could tell it was an O'Douls or some other type of non alcoholic beer.

Went back a week later to see the Tubes with their replacement lead singer and the show was packed.

This is a great idea! I think the world was clamoring for the exact same song, with worse production and wimpier sound than the already wimpy original!!

Wow that's sad. The Tubes were already dead 2 years earlier before Fee left. IDK what's sadder - the ignored guitar pick, or getting outdrawn by scab Tubes.

Seriously. Such a sterilized version of the original. An old man trying to catch relevancy 40 years later.

I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

It's funny, Autograph hasn't been on my radar at all. I hadn't thought about them probably since the 80's but shortly after seeing this post I bought a box of about 70 CDs and sure enough there's a copy of Sign In Please. Nothing else from the era at all, just that one. Maybe I'll even give it a listen.
