HOW FULL OF IT ... Are the Rockers we see promoting random Charities, or looking for Donations to Play "Good Guy"?

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

HOW FULL OF IT ... Are the Rockers we see promoting random Charities, or looking for Donations to Play "Good Guy"?

Seeing the Beach Boys thread, and I saw one of the comments had this, "Reminding everyone that Love donates to charity..." in the post!

Now, a guy that is worth millions, I can accept it, that they are donating as they have a lot more doe to play around with... it seems realistic. My 2-cents.

But seeing some of these lower level D-list musicians, always promoting a charity, and claiming to donate a portion of their sales, etc... to me sounds suspect at best!

It's also a bit odd, when the same people continue with their "Hey, so I started a GoFundMe because..." and then there is a long sob story.

When I see the single Mom who is left to raise 3 kids after her husband was killed in a car crash, I am all in.

But when I see the "Hey, our dog has to have a surgery..." it scream bull-sh!t.

Or, the "Hey, all these former Prostitutes need tampons and clothes...." and the person starting the GFM campaigns is always at a resort!

Charity my ass!

Some are probably legit (Bono for one, believe it not). Many are just doing it to look good or to add promotion. When I first saw KISS back in 1983 (Creatures Tour), the show was advertised as a benefit some little girl who needed a heart transplant or something like that. Didn’t seem like something Gene and Paul sat around thinking about, honestly.

Warrant played in my town in the 90s. The proceeds were going towards a domestic violence charity,

I don't think Bono or Kiss or Sixx, or anyone who has THAT kind of money are full of sh!t!

I am talking about the guys claiming to be "helping" and "donating", and they're many levels below Millionaire status.

My band once offered to do a benefit show for a local guy who ran a homeless ministry. Because of the “type” of music we played he said “no thank you”. We were just trying to help out, but oh well. I totally think some big names do it for cynical reasons.

Also a lot of low-level bands often do it to help a fan or friend with serious health issues and stuff like that.
