Anyone else think Lillian Axe's Psychoschizophrenia is a masterpiece?

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Anyone else think Lillian Axe's Psychoschizophrenia is a masterpiece?

Post by SchenkerFan »

This band is not talked about all that much on here. Their first few albums had some great days, but were the typical 80s glam tunes. Psychoschizophrenia is something else. I don't know know any comparable bands. There's not a weak song on it, it's all killer no filler.

We had a Lillian Axe thread a few months ago.

Yes, it's a masterpiece. It belongs in the Sludge Holy Trinity along with Dog Eat Dog and Pull. One of those records that showed the band pushing boundaries. On the downside, they removed the more fun, melodic side entirely. She Likes it on Top, True Believer, Show a Little Love, etc... there's nothing like that on here. But still, in and of itself, it's a fantastic album.

“Now You Know” is super melodic, easily could have been on Love + War.

But to answer the original question, yes it is a masterpiece! One of my favorite bands from that time that I still listen to frequently!
