I had no idea before tonight who this guy was, but from what I've read this evening it's a sad event for his family and anyone who witnessed it but a gain for the rest of your country. That "a few gun deaths every year are worth it" quote is gold. They should put it on his tombstone. Obviously the subtext was "a few dead kids, black people, poor people, not the likes of me". Oh well.

However, Donnie's reaction won't be pretty - expect a bigly revenge move incoming in 3... 2....

Edited to add - one for the conspiracy theorists - look up who Ernst Röhm was, and who did what to him.

I guess now the wingnuts feel they have a bit breathing room to stick their necks out without being hit with credible accusations of being complicit in the sexual exploitation of minors.

I do not endorse political violence, however I don't have to feign sympathy for people who showed none of it for others that suffered from it.

It's mind boggling to me that somebody thought Charlie Kirk was important enough to kill.

Absolutely terrible. I’d see this guy show up on IG reels but never paid much attention to it. My coworker was very upset about this today. The violence is excessive. If you don’t like someone’s views there’s no reason to kill someone. I hope they catch the person and give them the electric chair

Never heard of him. The shooter must have been a heck of a marksman though, to nail him right in the neck from long distance.

It’s been said a dozen times what Kirk said about a few deaths…as long as it wasn’t him or what he spoke for. Just like no person or party should be exempt from prison for pedophilia, political violence is inexcusable regardless of what party line you tow.

Unfortunately, risk of assassination is now part of a politicians or pundits job description.

Yes, the guy is a gun loving asshole, but Jesus Fucking Christ, he's also a human being. Can we just not be hateful for a couple of minutes please?????
No. No I don't think so.
He was nothing but hateful. He wasn't just a gun lover. He was a misogynistic, racist, piece of absolute shit.
The things I have heard him say are beyond disgusting.
And truthfully? I don't even think he believed the bullshit he spouted. It just made him money.

But no one should be asking for empathy for Charlie. He didn't believe in empathy. Go ahead and look that one up.

For a minute, I felt bad for his family, but then I remembered hearing him say, if his daughter were impregnated due to rape, he would force her to carry to term. Wow! Those kids are better off without him.

And then there's Teflon Don blaming the "radical left-wing Democrats" for this and all the other murders, including his Butler, PA shooter. Who, of course, was Republican.

Now we're supposed to be more civil and "turn down the vitriol,"but have a president who always plays victim and the blame game.

I obviously don't think that is funny and won't be repeating it or reposting it anywhere.

Okay, if that's the case, and the Dems are violent terrorists, Charlie Kirk started a whole business centered around antagonizing terrorists. Which would make him speaking at open-air events pretty foolish on his part, given how violent left-wing extremists are.

Come on. No one's buying this. These country-club guys trying to orchestrate a second civil war to rake in billions didn't think the Left were armed and pissed off too, and one of them got popped.

That's what war looks like. IT'S MURDER.

And make no mistake, I think it sucks. I saw the video--that is a nightmare. I didn't think highly of the man but his kids probably had no idea what he did for a living, or that he was even disliked.

This is what we're looking at, a lot of death, a lot of misery. For a pdf file game show host.

Here's a list of things Charlie Kirk said. It used to be if you held views like this, you'd be on the far fringes of any political discourse and not taken seriously. Now the POTUS orders flags flown at half mast for a POS like this. He didn't do the same for the MN dems that were killed. The type of rhetoric that Kirk and his ilk increasingly trade in over the last 10-15 years is a huge reason we're where we are now in this country politically. What was once unacceptable, has been normalized. Trump calling people garbage every day of the week on his social media has emboldened all of the types who peddle this crap.

You should look into him a little bit more.

He was all for school kids dying, as long as people could have guns. Just a consequence of upholding the Second Amendment!

He joked about Nancy Pelosi's husband being brutally beaten with a hammer.

He said abortion is worse than the Holocaust, and if his daughter were to be impregnated due to rape, he would force her to carry to term.

“I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made up newer term, and it does a lot of damage.” Charlie Kirk

Charlie didn't like empathy, so lets not have any for him.

And just so you know, there is no electric chair.

Awful. Made me sick to watch it.

I know where I stand on political positions but anybody who truly cheers about this should really take a step back.

By the same token, the republican line on this seems to be "Dems are terrible! Look what they did!", and I hate to break it to them but one nut with a gun certainly doesn't represent a whole political party.

I have. But because trump only needed him for the campaign. To get right wing incels to vote. He doesn't need him anymore.
I doubt trump remembers who he is. But his staff is sending out tweets, like he was somebody.

I'm trying to work out why anyone with a Leftist political motivation would meticulously plan out this crime--they're apparently still at large--while ignoring that the end result is going to be Trump cranking up the fascism and Charlie Kirk being a martyr.

The only thing the Left gains is one less racist in the world. Big whoop.

MAGA gains a LOT more.

Misguided Leftist? Yeah, probably. But nothing in Trump World should ever be taken at face value.

Unfortunately for you guys , America is broken. He was just another guy that helped to break it. I just don’t see it getting any better in the next three years. I hope Americans can find a way to common some ground …somehow. I pray that this murder isn’t a lit fuse for the whole country to explode .

"I can't STAND the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made up, new age term, and it does a LOT of damage." - Charlie Kirk

Regarding the hammer attack that fractured the skull of Paul Pelosi - "Why has he not been bailed out? By the way, if some amazing patriot out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants to really be a midterm hero, someone should go and bail this guy out." - Charlie Kirk

When taunting Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump sarcastically asked, "How's her husband doing?" He then remarked, "She's against buiding a wall in our border, even though she has a wall around her house - which obviously didn't do a very good job." Which lead to raucous laugher from the Republican audience. The same guy who never picked up the phone to call Tim Walz or any Democrat leader in Minnesota after two Democrat politicians were assassinated. He had a tee time.

Thoughts and prayers.
