Why no more famous groupies?

Post by SchenkerFan »

Starting in the late 60s and early 70s, you had these famous women like Pamela Des Barres, Sweet Connie, Cynthia Plaster Caster or Sable Starr. I can't really think of any really famous groupies since the 80s. What's the reason for that?

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

Isn't Valerie, Wolfie's #1 groupie? She's famous. :D

Not famous, but I'm sure all these sound-alike "metal bands" from the 2020s have fan groupies.

Pop music has been reduced to teenyboppers.

Rap/Hip-Hop has its ratchet (is this still a word?) hoochies.

The groupies have migrated over to sports. NFL, NBA etc. Most of those "groupies" are on OnlyFans, are hardcore porn stars, or both.

Sunset Strip-era groupies would've had a field day on social media.

Yes and I’m glad to remember a time before social media. Social media has a tendency to ruin everything.

To have groupies, you need bands.
