Loudness and Warlock opening for Bathory tribute band at Festival

Post by HueyRamone »

How is a Bathory tribute band the biggest band on the bill?

Chris Holmes is now, apparently: "Holmes- The Sound of WASP"
Voivod and Dirkschnieder as well. Is UDO and Dirkschnieder two different things?

Sanctuary, Midnight as well. Udo has his own gravity, it's one thing for sure (it's a mass thing) :D

'Cause Bathory has a huge cult following in Europe.
U.D.O. is where Udo plays his stuff, Dirkschnieder is his Accept Cover band. It's been this way for years.

BFD is the crème de la crème of supergroups: Erik Danielsson (Watain) - vocals, Ivar Bjørnson (Enslaved) - guitar, Apollyon (Aura Noir) - bass & vocals, Blasphemer (Vltimas, ex-Mayhem) - guitar and Faust (Djevel, ex-Emperor) - drums.

Bathory never really played shows, so hearing a live set of this caliber is indeed bigger and better than hearing Wok and Wol Cwazy Nights and All We Are for the umpteenth time.

"A tribute to Manila Road" is a name I never expected to see. They sold, what, 500 albums?

Also at first glance I could have sworn the 2nd last band was called Incel Fury. A better name than the actual Angel Fury.

But this show is in Texas.

The supergroup explanation is helpful, though.

Oh, and it's not "Holmes- The Sound of WASP".

It's H.O.L.M.E.S - The Sound of WASP"
