He didn't lie. There's factual basis that the shooter stems from the far-right, Nick Fuentes styled thinking, and yet all the Maga types are trying to paint him as someone on the left, so that they don't have to take accountability for their own, and create a boogeyman at the same time.

Sinclair Broadcast Group says it will replace the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ time slot with a Charlie Kirk special.

The company also calls for Kimmel to issue an apology to the Kirk family and donate to Turning Point USA.

Here's the actual quote:

Regardless of what you believe the shooter's political ideologies to be, this quote is 100% true. Right after the shooting happened, we had 48 hours of people like Steve Bannon calling for civil war against the left due to the shooting, and he wasn't the only one. While the killing was a terrible thing, calling for civil war, and specifically telling people to take up arms against the left was a gross over-reaction, and it was in stark contrast to most (not all) politicians on the left well wishing Kirk's family. To be clear, Kimmel was in NO WAY talking poorly about Kirk, he was talking about people's reaction.

As far as what his motivations were, until he comes out and admits why he did it, everything else is conjecture. But unfortunately, I've spent enough time (in the past) on 4-chan to know that the alt-right runs very deep on that site, and if he was engraving bullets with 4-chan/Groyper memes, it's not a huge jump to think about what might have been influencing him. Also, based on his age, it's ALTOGETHER possible he had developed schizophrenia, in which case there's no telling what was going on in his head.

Regardless of any of that, Trump has told more out and out lies in pretty much any of his appearances since 2015, and we're going to throw Jimmy Kimmel off tv for maybe "bending" the truth, at best? Preposterous.

Saw a video that made sense. First, Kimmel will be fine. He'll probably become bigger than ever in some way. Second, for those who are eternally online and live in that bubble, this is a non-violent attention grabber to both the left, right, and middle (not everyone in those factions, of course). This sort of thing has the potential to backfire on the intent. The Epstein files have the potential to backfire on the intent. Does it violate 1A? Yes. Could it have a silver lining of waking up certain people? Also yes.
