I'm sure there are lots of people out there that thought John Cafferty "On the Darkside" was Bruce Springsteen. I probably thought so too the first time I heard it.

Semi-intentionally given they were looking for a band with a Jersey/Springsteen sound for the soundtrack.

Hearing Rockhead's "Bed of Roses" on Z-Rock radio in late summer of 1992, I assumed it was the lead-off single from Trixter's "Hear" album. It sounds a lot like Trixter.

For years when I was a kid I thought "Hard Luck Woman" was Rod Stewart.
