The funny thing is this thread was supposed to be about Tom Brady. Who turned it into a Brett Favre thread? If the fucking people who hate him would stop going on and on and on and on about him, then maybe I would too. Don't want to hear about him? Here's a suggestion... don't bring his name into every thread.

Now, about that overhyped and overrated douchebag Tom Brady...

The fact that people that like him hate Brett Favre.

I don't hate Montana. I'm not a huge fan of him, but I do have some appreciation for what he did in his career. I enjoy watching his old games, but I just think that the legend of Joe Montana far exceeds the reality of what he was. He was a very good QB. One of the top 20 of all-time for sure, maybe even one of the top 10 of all-time. But nowhere near the best of all-time. He just doesn't compare favorably to the likes of Favre, Elway, Marino, Young, and Manning.

Tom Brady I do hate. What makes him a douchebag? Well, for starters his quote in my signature line. Mostly just his arrogant attitude and the fact that he bought into Belichik's propaganda a couple of years ago. They cheated, got caught red handed, and then had the audacity to portray themselves as the victims. So because they were so wronged by the league, they decided to get their revenge by running up the score on hapless opponents late in games that the outcome was no longer in doubt. I have no respect for teams or players that think they have to rub salt in the wound of a defeated opponent.

Trying to steer this thread back on track, but the threadjackers continue to insist on making it about Brett Favre. I don't know if that is to deflect attention away from their loverboy Tom Brady's shitty play this season, or if they're just so consumed with irrational hatred that they can't stop talking about Favre. Either way, it's pretty pathetic. Carry on with your hate-fest, I'll gracefully bow out now as I have better things to do with my life than interact with fucking obsessed idiots.

LOL @ MOR, has there ever been a bigger pussy trying to pass off bull shit while living in denial? He's like a fucking child getting called out!

This thread had nothing to do with Farve! Hating on Brady has nothing to do with jealousy and all the other Brady vs Bret arguments that's been going on for fucking ever with him. Nothing to do with tearing him down to Bret's level!

An adult with a child like mind.

Brady has looked pretty damn valuable in the first half today. 5 TDs in a half? Yeah, he's washed up.

So I guess that answers the "least valuable question"

What kind of idiot would even ask something like that?

29/34 380y for 6 TD's! IN THE SNOW! HAHAHA! How's that make you feel MOR? Pretty stupid I'd imagine. Fuck it, you're use to it.

One great quarter against an incredibly bad team completely erases five mediocre games? Hilarious!!!

Funny how a few people here are so quick to slobber all over Tom's dick.

He did have 5 mediocre games, while he was obviously still struggling to find his footing again after a lost season and surgery, but how in the fuck can you discount a 6 TD game? Tennessee has a much better defense than "an incredibly bad team" ought to have, and it was in the fucking snow. That was a phenomenal performance by that QB that you love to hate. Not a bad day for your guy either.

The true hilarity is that his first 5 games were considered mediocre.

They might have been mediocre compared to his one unearthly season, but they were right on par with his career numbers, a career that has 3 rings.

Over %60 completion and a 3-1 TD-INT ratio is hardly mediocre.

His numbers were below EXPECTATION, but they were far from mediocre.

Then that's your own unrealistic expectation.

He had one almost supernatural season.

Every other season was around 85-90 rating, %60-63 completion and a 2-1 TD-INT ratio.

I am guessing, because the record has fallen twice in the past half decade, there's a tendency to come to expect the otherworldly performances as the norm, rather than the lightning in a bottle they really are.

His numbers, before yesterday, were on par (and better in terms of td production) with every other season he had save the one magical season.

If you think numbers that were on par (better in some cases) with his career was mediocre for HIM, then clearly your EXPECTATIONS are that he should put up numbers similar to 2007, rather than his usual output.

Granted, his last full season was followed by an extended absence, so it's quite easy to have those expectations, but there really wasn't anything mediocre about his play vs his career.

Unless we also want to say Peyton Manning has been mediocre since 2004.

If it was up to numbers Matt Schaub would be one of the greatest QBs in the league right now. Great QB play goes beyond simple stats like TD to INT ratio and completion percentage. It goes to things like completions for first downs on 3rd and long and winning in the last 2 minutes etc, but you know all that, so why are we arguing about it?

The games I saw had an Oline failing him, a 4th quarter comeback, defensive failings and some "make do while undermanned" games.

In other words, the same old pre 2007 Brady.

Tom Brady to me presents an awesome football "what if."
Think about. Non-descript collegiate career at Michigan. Bledsoe gets knocked out for basically the season. The Pats were a stacked team. When Bledsoe was healthy and filled in for Brady in the playoffs, he did FINE. So, if Drew would have never been hit that year, would we even know who Tom Brady is???? I think that that Pats team was like the early 90's 49ers. Montana could win with 'em, Young could win with 'em, and Bono could win with 'em.

They were so stacked with talent that Bledsoe was 0-2 when he went down.

Cassell's success in NE and lack of it in KC adds a little credence to the "Brady is a system QB" argument. I think it's a little of both personally. Brady is very good and he plays on a very good team for a very good coach and offensive scheme that only makes him look better.

And they finished 11-5 and were lucky in the divisional against Oakland.

Although they do say it's better to be born lucky than talented. If Tom and the Pats got lucky then, they sure as hell took advantage of it since and have produced some great football.

There is no "system".

Brady has had 3 different systems since he's become starter and in only one of those years, year 3 of system #2, did he put up astronomical numbers, the year he finally got some all pro receivers.

It's not that Brady is a system QB - it's how utterly useless his former receivers (Branch, Givens etc) turned out to be without Tom Brady.

2 different systems and, save one astronomical season, amazingly consistent stats. 2006 was a typical Brady season -
61.8 3529 24 12 87.9

And his leading receiver was Reche Caldwell.

That's not a misprint.

He's now in system #3 and seems to be on his was to a typical Tom Brady season.

That's the QB, not a system.

• When anyone said Tom Brady wasn't "back'' yet, what that really meant was he wasn't back to his near-perfect 2007 form, when the Patriots' deep passing game was almost comically effective. That season, any time New England really needed to score, Brady and Randy Moss just played pitch and catch from 40 to 50 yards, making it look like Brady's play call was something like, "Go deep and I'll get it to you.''
