Yankees vs twins in 1st round on ALDS
ESPN is reporting that twins 1b morneau has been ruled out for the entire post season.
Yankees have not announced their starters for this series.
Last night MLB Network suggested a 3-man rotation C.C., Hughes, Pettitte.
The twins have already announced a four-man rotation for the division series: LHP Francisco Liriano, RHP Carl Pavano, LHP Brian Duensing and RHP Nick Blackburn

I think that's right. Except I have Tampa over Texas. Aside from Cliff Lee I don't see anything in the Rangers rotation that Tampa couldn't handle.Machado wrote:I'll give it a shot:WOLF wrote:Mine will have to do:WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:Jake, where are the postseason predictions?????

Kill-
The main reason these rangers can give the rays an early exit is the lefty starters. rays this season have not hit well vs lefty starters.
lee and c.j. wilson could pose a problem in the series.

How much are the Yankees paying AJ Burnett not to pitch in the first round?

A.J. is earning a lot of money this year.
He's on the roster, but not scheduled to make a start.
C.C., Andy and Hughes are much better starting pitchers at this point in the season.
A.J. has not earned anybody's trust, so he is not among the 3-man rotation for the ALDS.
Very easy decision.

When it comes down to making decisions, the 4th starter must be A.J. because the 5th starter is Javy Vasquez or Moseley.
By default, A.J. has to be #4 on the depth chart.

C'mon, it's only the divisional playoffs. So what if they are 1 of only 8 teams to get to the post season. Why should Tampa fans bother to support them?johnk5150 wrote:Holy balls there's a lot of empty seats in Tampa right now.
I'm sure Tampa fans will show up in in full force to support their team if they just so happen to get to the World Series and play a game 7.

hey kill,
did you watch ESPN 30 for 30 last night?
red sox 2004 comeback vs Yankees
luckily the preceding program ran long, so my DVR could only record 40 minutes of the film.
would have harmed me to see the entire film and re-live the horrible series.

Yankees took Game 1 last night.
C.C. battled through 6
Yankees hitters caught up to liriano in the 6th.
Huge 2-run triple by Granderson for the 4-3 lead.
Then a HUGE Home Run by Tex to take the lead for good.
Robertson made a huge pitch to thome for strike 3 with runners on.
Mo goes 1 1/3 for the save.

No matter how well Halladay would pitch in Toronto, or Lee in Cleveland. They were fucked by a lack of run support.johnk5150 wrote:Everyone in Toronto threw up in their mouths. As for "reliving" it. What has to really suck, is that they ended up winning the series. When I see replays of the Boone HR, I'm left with the warm feeling that Josh Beckett had other plans for them

So they can have the AL. They weren't the better team, and Clemens ( once again ) got his ass handed to him when it mattered most.

Kill-That is 1,000% correct. The pain from losing in '04 mostly comes from the sox winning the series.killeverything wrote:No matter how well Halladay would pitch in Toronto, or Lee in Cleveland. So there have already been two blown calls this post season, one of which definitely cost a team a game. But hey, why use replay to get the calls right because it might hurt the umps' feelings. Fuck you again Selig.
Re: Killeverything's (New)NeverEndingBaseballThread
to be fair, i am opposed to using replay for balls and strikes. no chance.SkyDog112046 wrote:So there have already been two blown calls this post season, one of which definitely cost a team a game. the call that went against pavano, for Berkman should have been a strike.
the umpire blew the call and Berkman took advantage.
if you are referring to the stolen base by posey that really should have not been a steal, now that call could have easily been reversed with the use of replay.
Selig is a moron.
He is betting the game will NOT feature any controversial calls during the playoffs.
Well guess what Bud? You fucking better wake up and get your head out of your fucking colon.
The game needs replay.
The game can be improved with the use of replay.
The system won't take 5 minutes.
The system won't interrupt the rhythm of the game.
