Vick definitely more than paid his debt to society and deserves a second chance. When you look at the penalty he got compared to others that have done worse and gotten not much more than a slap on the wrist... Think about it - between the trial and prison he lost roughly 2 years of his life, he lost more money than most people can even dream of, he was made an example of by the league, and he appears to have learned a lesson. Unless/until he messes up he deserves a clean slate.

fuck that "he lost more than most" bullshit I've been hearing... That's because he HAD more than most, it's his own dumb fault he lost it. The courts should take lost earnings into account when considering criminal charges?

Some pretty good T-Day games. The Patriots vs Lions game started out slow but turned into a barn burner. Branches 79 yard TD is one for the highlight reels.

Saints vs Cowboys started off ugly and then got real entertaining. Kitna looks like he is finally getting the hang of things. Brees looked good going 89 yards in 5 plays on that last TD drive.

Watching Bengals vs Jets now. So far a shitty game. What the hell happened to Palmer? I know he had some issues after his injury a few years ago but he just flat out sucks now. A 43.6 QB rating just before half time? And that includes his TD pass. His rating before the last drive was 15.4. Pathetic

Peyton Hillis is what the Browns thought they were drafting way back when they drafted "Touchdown" Tommy Vardell. My only worry is that an over reliance on Hillis going to shorten his career considerably.

As for the playoff picture, I agree w/ that statement, but I would the NFC West to your list of divisions that should just be banished from the playoffs. It's quite possible the winner of the NFC West will be 7-9.

the andre johnson vs finnegan fight on Sunday.

The only reason Johnson was not suspended is because his team is playing this Thurs night on NFL Network.
The same network that is owned by the NFL.

A lot of times the NFL schedule has lousy matchups for the Sunday & Monday night games but this weekend should be excellent:
Sunday night - Pittsburgh @ Baltimore
Monday night - NYJ @ New England

Oakland @ San Diego could be a good one too depending on which Raiders team shows up.

Atlanta @ Tampa should be good too.

Definitely a good move saving more divisional matchups for the last 4-5 weeks of the season.

A couple of haymakers may be an embarassment to the league and the players involved (particularly if you're the guy getting his ass kicked), but neither of those guys was at much risk of spending the rest of his life in a wheel chair over it. The fine amounts are mostly symbolic anyway to guys making that kind of coin. 5 bucks or 2.50? Eh, whatever. Game checks, that's where it hurts.

How does Richard Seymour get fined $25k for hitting another player in the face and the same dollar amount is applied to Johnson for throwing multiple blows and ripping the helmet off of another player?

I think you have to take the guy's history as well as the provacation into account. Johnson has been a model citizen his entire career. I understand the argument for a suspension, and I don't think anybody, including Johnson, would have argued with one much, but he's not exactly a diva wideout or a thug. Him and Finnegan do have a history and Finnegan has figured out how to get into Johnson's head, but I'd bet a hundred bucks that it never happens again.

They were talking about this earlier on ESPN and showed some past incidents where guys werent suspended for similiar shit, Deion/Rison fight in 94' no suspension and recently the seymour incident, no suspension, I don't get the big deal eveyone except for a few cunty sports reporters like the outcome.

Just look at how both guys handled the aftermath, Johnson apologized to his fans/city/teammates like the class act he's always been.

Finnigan lied through his teeth and acted like the bitch ass pussy he's always been, Courtney has also had mulitiple warnings this year for the same shit, Johnson hasen't because he's not an instigating little girl, I wish they would've suspended finnigan a game and given Johnson a fucking bonus for smashing that little prick. The NFL's ultimate goal aside from making money is to make the fans happy and most fans love that johnson wasen't suspended, I don't see a problem here.
